yep, it was a bollocking - I had hoped for a old closer game but they have a long way to go to get back to that type of level.
Good hat trick.

On a side note, Ambrose is no longer the worst centre back in the SPL.  That title now belongs to Senderos. What a wonderful Old Firm debut he had.

Senderos, Barton and Kranjčar only the lastest of a long list of experienced, big name players who can't handle the pressure of that comes with an Old Firm match.

We totally battered them, we never looked like losing,  we were in total control to the extent that for the first time ever in an old firm game, we rested players for the Barcelona game.  Rogic was given 53mins then pulled for Barcelona,  Brown as well.
How about that atmosphere, nothing like it, the joint was bouncing, Rangers manager was screaming at a player 10 yards away and couldn't hear him.

yes its always been one of the best derbies in the game.
Despite the shonkiness of their past SPL needs them in the league, it adds that x factor.
I'm happy for BR to date - lets see how he handles it when the loss or 2 comes.

Maybe. I was shitting bricks when they pulled one back.

So was I, as they were back in the game at that point.

All it would have taking was for was for McKay's (I think it was) shot to bend a wee bit earlier and the match could/would have been 2-2 and a whole different ball game.

That said, we played brilliantly and I can't fault the players. They were top class.

Real shame they couldn't keep the leakage to a respectable number but when they are on hard to stop.

Yeah it comes up every now and then since 1999 but nothing goes further. That said, I'd prefer this option to moving to England and think regional leagues are going to be the only way smaller nations are going to be able to compete with the big 4. However if there is no Pro/Rel between this and the existing leagues then I hope this dies very quickly.

Larsson and son attacked by fans as Helsingborg relegated – Eurosport.com AU

Jordan looked to have fired Helsingborg to safety when he scored in the 83rd minute but a Marcus Mathisen double in the last three minutes gave the second-tier side a 3-2 aggregate victory and saw Helsingborg drop out of the Allsvenskan.

Former Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United forward Henrik Larsson and his son went to commiserate with the home crowd when a number of fans threw chairs and flags at them, with several masked men entering the field to demand Jordan’s shirt.

As the 19-year-old removed it, one of the fans appeared to strike him, provoking an angry response from father and son before stewards could intervene.

Team mates and club officials have yet to comment and when questioned about the incident a disappointed Jordan Larsson told reporters: “We’ll have to take that another day.”

The seven-times Swedish champions were relegated for the first time in 23 years, with Larsson having been in charge of the club he used to play for since the start of last season.

Don't really agree with this, but :) big bag of dicks for the relegation Helsingborg

In the first half of the season (16/17) Celtic has played 36 competitive games (not including the friendlies). The winter break will be a huge benefit come the second half of this season and leading into the start of next season. Hopefully it is here to stay this time around and not get dumped again.

Not the result I wanted (nor one that truely reflects the match), but our unbeaten run continues.

Griffiths should have been given a penalty as Clint Hill clearly fouled him in the box on the 89th minute.

Not happy!... But life and our run for an unbeatable season continues.

Gold Coast soccer’s Nerang Eagles become sister club of Scottish Premiership team Celtic FC

THE Nerang Eagles have become a sister club of Scottish Premiership champions Celtic FC in a partnership that will see world-class coaches working with rising Gold Coast soccer stars.

The deal, five years in the making and the first to link Celtic with a Queensland squad, is designed to nurture growth for juniors at both clubs.

It will involve Nerang hosting a Celtic Academy coaching clinic from April 3-7, offering expertise to players from any club from under-nines to under-18s at a cost of $385.

Eagles coaching director Gary Scott – who also heads the Academy of Football Australia based at Nerang – was delighted to seal the deal.

“We had a chat for a good while and then Tony Massie, Celtic’s soccer academy manager, came over to Australia where we had further detailed conversations about how the partnership will work and what’s expected of each club,” Scott said.

“This of course includes a Celtic coaching clinic to be held during the Easter school holidays at our club here at Nerang where local players from any club on the Gold Coast can get expert mentorship and a week of coaching from top Celtic coaching staff.

“…Celtic are really looking forward to this relationship and they see this as their first tentative steps into Australia.”

During a recent invite-only trip to Scotland along with Eagles assistant coach Darrell Olive, Scott was presented with a Celtic jersey featuring the Nerang Soccer Club name by their first division manager Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers managed English Premier League heavyweights Liverpool before joining Celtic last year.

A great result last night at Ibrox. That being said, the Huns got off lightly, and the 1-5 result flattered Rangers as Celtic could have/should have scored another 2 or 3 more(if not more) goals easy.

We are in need of signing a couple of extra centre-backs, if we are to have any chance of doing anything special in Europe this season. Filling the gap with two center mids just won't hold up as last night showed.

Finally a player who (IMO) deserves the #7 at Celtic. I can't think of a player in our recent history that (again IMO) did the number the service it deserved since the Robbie Keane and/or Scott McDonald periods.

Lovely. Another £7.5m to add to our kitty. All thanks to the 10% sell-on clause we had added to Virgil Van Dijk transfer. That's over £20m we made from selling him.

The chasm gets bigger and bigger with each passing day 😅

Only game watching in the SPL last night and what a derby to watch.
You could tell Rangers and supporters a win was in the making, Rogic scores well, Dembele levels it 2-2 by HT.
What a 2nd half with Rangers throwing everything at the hoops casing a soft send off Simonuvic have to say.
BR withdraws Rogic and a debut derby for Edouard and what a sub.
Played really well and on a counter down the left he turns on his right putting in a peach of a shot across the keeper far right netting then it was hold on.
Great game and what a away Derby win.
