I wonder if Leckie will final get some Europa action. The German sides have done poorly with reserve 11s as on the surface the league appears so much tougher and more important. For Köln it certainly is now.

+xJones in a 1-0 loss to City Bit late to reply for this one but Jones was captain for that match too.

Nice header Leckie.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

26' GOAL! Hertha are in complete control and they have got the lead their dominance has warranted. A cross from the left from Mittelstadt is met with a powerful bullet header by Mathew Leckie and the Bilbao defence once again fail to deal with the threat from the wings. https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/2621572/live-ticker/

How big must Leckie be feeling. How many goals is that now. Form is strong . nearly scored shortly before the header by looks , very unlucky

Gersbach bench. Rosenborg out as it stands. Must win to have any chance. That late draw to Zenit really hurt them. Hertha currently 2nd.

+x+xHOHO FUCK OFFFFFFFFFFFFFF immediate goal back to Hertha 2-1 Lovely play that. If only we had some Aussie striker like Selke. think the general speed of that play would allude any Aussie player. such a huge difference overall this game. makes A-League look like utter yawn

Leckie is definitely a LWB here. Hear many ppl saying @ club he's a winger. Pretty sure this is predominantly how Hertha use him

+xHertha lose 3:2 and are eliminated. lol I know this is for another thread but Australia should try to get Graham Potter from Östersund. He will get a gig back in England next summer perhaps. Seems to be pretty good in cups (Östersund won the cup as a means for European play)

Gersbach on in the 87th minute, but Real Sociedad scored in the 90th to win 0-1, and Rosenborg are also eliminated.
No idea if Gersbach was involved in conceding the goal.

+xZenit level in the last second. Gersbach got 4min. Hope he wasn't involved in the goal. There seems to be a pattern...

Had a look at the goal wasn't his fault, the Sociedad player made a good run against the right back and Meling wasn't paying attention so wasn't prepared for the parry by the keeper.

Mick McCarthy says Folami is pushing for a spot on the bench and is training well with the 1sts Meanwhile, the Blues boss says 18-year-old Australian striker Ben Folami, who made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup tie at Crystal Palace in August, is getting close to claiming a place on the bench for a Championship fixture having been in the travelling squad on a couple of occasions recently. “He is, he’s trained again with us today and he’s continued to do well," McCarthy continued. "Ben Morris is as well. “I would say Ben Folami is the more physical of the two of them and more able to handle the Championship, but Ben Morris is certainly a goalscorer. “Both of them are pushing for a place if we suffer any injuries to the strikers. But, please God, we don’t get any because we all know they’ve been terrific.

Lachlan Barr has been loaned for a month to Harrogate Town in the national team North (tier 6). If I remember correctly his contract at Bradford is only for six months, he will probably be released in January. The only problem is he will then have most likely played official games for two clubs in the one season so unless Harrogate sign him he wont be able to play for a third club. Obviously dropping to the 6th tier doesn't look great but last season he was playing at a lower level in Germany. Harrogate announced itself as starting as a fully professional club this season and if they get promoted (currently second) they will be in the National League which is mostly professional now. https://www.harrogatetownafc.com/news-media/town-complete-triple-loan-swoop/

Hopefully the new coach plays Leckie in an advanced winger role instead of a quasi-right-back, he's probably our best attacking weapon atm.
