I'm surprised there are new teams in the State League considering they were talking about axing the competition in 2019. I'm not a big fan of having association teams.. seems to be a trend but it is good to see another team from the South Coast and the Central Coast.

Yeah surely State League is safe now. Big mish for those teams having to travel out to Wagga, Gong & Gosford now though

I think its good, the whole NPL is very Sydney based, a bit of variety may freshen up the leagues if these clubs can climb higher in the pyramid.

Not a fan of association based teams either, im suprised Sutherland association didnt put a team together, I thought they may have been pressured by the "Southern Expansion" A-League bid, I know St George FA have close ties to that bid along with Sutherland and South coast associations. 

Not when your a coach like myself & TFL & have to go out to these clubs in the sticks twice a year :/

Going twice a year to Bathurst and getting referee's that bend the rules in favour of the home team isn't fun. I've been coaching since 2013 and this year was the first time that I beat them at their home ground. 

Gotta feel sorry for the SAP teams that have to go there. All that way just to play a 40 minute game where the result isn't even counted hahah

Solid signing for Hakoah.  Could see a changing of the guard with better players going to clubs like Hakoah. 

Antelmi to United a massive pick up.  He could score 15 to 20 in that.  Would have had to take a huge pay cut when he left wolves too. 

he would of, however he was sick of travelling to wollongong 3/4 times  a week which is understandable.

Did Blacktown re-sign James Andrew? he would be a great addition to any club.

We also picked up a called called Naim Rahimi from olympic, i got no clue who that is.

I heard James Andrew may come back to us now that we have a new coach.

Because we wouldnt pay the outrageous amount I heard he was on last year. He was due to sign for us until the Wolves popped up at the last minute with a huge offer that we couldn't match.

I'd be very surprised if we agreed to pay anywhere near that 

you heard he was on huge money ok ?  i think you will find he was on average money, he signed with the wolves to play under jake

I've personally witnessed Rudes, telling people United don't pay more than 800 or 900 a week for players...lol while Panny is on the books. We're expected to believe the bloke drives an hour there and back each training and match day and is doing it for half the pay he was previously receiving...lol

Come on mate, United has one of the biggest budgets in the league, Panny, Payne, Stav, Trifiro, Sim, Olsen, Woodcock, Uskok, Fragogiannis, etc play for peanuts? It's a team with probably the most A-League experience in the comp. Even Manos, Markovic and Vranic would have been demanding decent coin.

Only Sydney United sign players whilst owning current and recent departures thousands of dollars, have been crying poor despite blowing their trumpet regarding money they have made from 'Mike' Jedinaks transfer.

I've simply said that Antelmi was offered huge coin at Wolves and we didnt want to match it. Yes, I've no doubt that Panny probably makes quite a bit - Antelmi is a top player, but he's no Nikas. There's no point comparing the wage of the league's best player to others. 

Forgive me if I find it hard to believe that he agreed to drive all the way to Wollongong 3/4 times a week for "average" money just to play under Timpano... especially when he lives near King Tom.

Reading between the lines, you were hinting that United don't pay big wages, and would not meet the alleged outrageous demands of Antelmi last year. Maybe i misunderstood. Maybe Antelmi just threw a big figure at United knowing United pay big bucks - as per the rest of the playing squad. You blokes didn't jump at it, so he moved to the Wolves.

Sad news out of Wollongong that Kemblawarra Fury have folded.

Damn. We've been playing them in the Portuguese Cup for a few years.

What I said was that "we wouldnt pay the outrageous amount I heard he was on last year" specifically about Antelmi and in relation to the figure he was allegedly offered at Wollongong. Nothing to do with the rest of the squad - only an idiot would think we dont pay big wages. You wouldnt hold on to the likes of Nikas, Payne and Trifiro if you werent coughing up some decent cash. 

Where he lives is relevant. Most players will want some decent compensation if theyre travelling over one hour each way 3 to 4 times a week unless they're desperate for game time.

With all due respect to Timpano, he is hardly a coach that players would drive hours every week on minimal wage for.
