News Videos | Photos Jets kick off 2013/14 Membership

Monday, 6 May 2013 4:41 PM

As the Hunter Ports Newcastle Jets returned to pre-season training on Monday, they also kicked off phase one of the 2013/14 Membership campaign.

All Members who had opted in to an auto-renew Membership will receive a letter from the Club this week about the process for renewing their Membership.

The Membership communication includes a minor price increase, which reflects an extra home game in season 2013/14.

Once again, the Jets are expected to boast the most affordable Membership prices of all 10 teams in the A-League competition.

For the 2013/14 season the Jets will host 14 home matches (13 games in 2012/13) and Jets supporters can secure a reserved seat at all home matches with an Adult Community Reserved Membership valued at $130, that is $9.29 per match.

General Admission Memberships will be available for $120 for adults and $60 for juniors, while a family (two adults, one junior) can watch the Jets for an entire season for as little as $255, which is $6.07 per person, per match.

The Jets hosted 13 home matches at Hunter Stadium in 2012/13, attracting a Club-record average attendance of 13,388.

As well as having an extra home game to attend this season, all Members will receive a cap, membership card, lanyard, key ring, magnetic fixture list, bumper sticker pack and a $10 Merchandise voucher for the Hunter Sports Superstore.

Gold and Silver category Junior Members will also receive a Newcastle Jets junior pack.

Once again, Members are able to pay for their Membership over a 10-month period using the Club’s monthly payment plan.

Jets fans unable to get to Hunter Stadium, can show their support for the Club with the new Adult and Junior Supporter Memberships available for $75 and $40 respectively.

Membership is the best and most affordable way to support the Newcastle Jets. CLICK HERE to register your interest in becoming a Jets Member, or update your details if you were a Member in 2012/13.

All remaining Members will be sent their renewal packs in early June when the Club officially launches its 2013/14 Membership campaign.

surprised they stayed so low again tbh.

from what i'm hearing from a fair few people, gve has wrecked the club for them and they're not renewing memberships until he's gone. will be interesting to see if the poor showing from last season will reduce the membership levels or not

It's far too low.

It seriously devalues the product. A ticket has to cost at least $20-$25 a game. Nobody couldf complain about that.

Those prices are ridiculous and unsustainable.

Im fairly sure we were just shy of 10k by the end of the season just from reading statements on the website about how we were close to that magical 5 digit number.

More needs to be done by us promoting the Etihad 5 game memberships. The 18k Aami cap is fine, but we could break 20k if people actually knew about the Etihad passes.

i don't see the problem with them tbh. if our membership prices were double what they are, so roughly what you're saying they should be, it wouldn't be ridiculous to predict we'd get somewhere around 4-5k members (somewhere around the perth kinda mark). so we half the price, we get double the members (roughly). so roughly it works out the same amount of revenue membership-wise (although a little more costly for the hats/lanyards & shit). but then, you've got double the amount of people you would have otherwise through the gates. that's twice as much chance to cash in on stadium food/drinks/merch/etc. then you've got a lot more interest in the football community - kids will tell their friends, friends will want to come, football becomes bigger & we get more fans & members

and don't forget the fact they'll slowly raise it each year, and hold onto a lot more members over the years

wise, and as sustainable as anything else imo.

Agree with everything above. Plus what it has done is incentivize the gold memberships and just make gold tickets half the stadium where it previously would've been silver and bronze. What Newcastle has done was quite smart imo

i will add.. i know of a few people who wanted to get to a few jets games but not all in the last two years - whether it to see adp in the flesh, kewell & emerton, an f3 derby here & there, etc. by the time they added up how much it would be to buy tickets on the days of those games (normal gameday ticket prices are still relatively normal for a hal game), they realised it was going to be cheaper to buy memberships. and they went to most games, because they could. success again imo

Could not disagree more, take a look at the Bundesliga and their ticket/membership prices. We should model ourselves on the best

Does all teams have this system in place? I know WSW don't have monthly payment. That itself put a fair few (especially students) off from getting membership till they can gather up the cash total.

WSW most definitely do have monthly payment plans. IIRC they have it spread out into 6 monthly payments.

Figured this could be posted here.

Quote:
Adelaide United FC would like to provide our members and supporters an update on the 2013/14 Season Tickets and Memberships.

Season Ticket & Membership packages for 2013/14 are almost finalised and will be going on sale soon. We are just awaiting the confirmation of the season fixture. Once the FFA have released the fixture, we will be contacting all members and supporters via email providing full details - including pricing, and how you can sign-up or renew.

There will once again be an opportunity for existing members to secure their same seat as last season, but this season we have created a special Early Bird Offer for those that choose to sign up early.

Why should you buy a season ticket?

1. You will save over 30% compared with the price of match day tickets purchased at the gate (if you buy before 1 July 2013)
2. Your season ticket facilitates a quick and easy entry into the stadium as you will not have to queue to purchase match day tickets
3. You will receive an exclusive Members Kit (including Members Card, Members Lanyard, Members Pin, and Members Sticker). Plus all kids members will receive a Football Boot Keyring and a Stationary Label Sticker Sheet
4. Your season ticket will give you access to all Adelaide United regular season home matches, plus the AUFC National Youth League and Westfield Women’s League regular season home matches
5. It entitles you to 10% off all AUFC Merchandise when purchased at AUFC Club store or home matches (excludes sale items)
6. You receive priority access to tickets for the HAL Finals Series

The Season doesn’t start for months, why should you purchase a Season Ticket now?

Well, there are two very good reasons why:

1. Buy a Season Ticket by 5pm Sunday 30 June 2013 and you will save over 30%! Prices will be reduced until 30 June, but will revert back to the normal price from 1 July, so take advantage of this Early Bird Special.
2. Ever wanted to be in the team photo? We are offering 30 lucky members the chance to do so! All you have to do is buy a Season Ticket by 5pm, Sunday 30 June 2013 and you will have your chance! 15 adults and 15 kids will be randomly selected to take part and will be announced at the beginning of the season.

Why should you buy a Financial Membership in addition to your Season Ticket?

Membership is a matter of choice and about being respected, and we respect every member’s right to choose the category which best suits them. The club is committed to growing its membership base and to that end has established Adelaide United Members Club (AUMC) Inc. complete with voting rights. It provides a sense of ownership, of being able to attend the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and being part of a member based entity. As an Incorporated Not for Profit Entity, the club can apply for Government Grants. In addition we can also join Clubs SA and receive all associated benefits.

As part of your Financial Membership, you will also receive an exclusive Members Glass, and Stadium Seat Cushion.

Adelaide United Auto Renew System – Be RED Forever!

Over the years, members have expressed the desire for their Season Tickets and Memberships to automatically ‘rollover’ each season, without having to fill out forms or sign-up each year.

While we are not able to provide this service for the upcoming season (2013/14), we can now put the steps in place to implement this in future seasons. For the 2014/15 Season, members will have the option to have their Season Tickets and Memberships automatically renewed each year, no fuss!

If you purchase your Season Ticket or Membership for the 2013/14 Season using a credit card, we will be able to automatically renew them both for the following season and beyond.

Buy Online and Win

We are giving all members a chance to win a 2012/13 playing shirt signed by the whole team! Simply purchase your Season Ticket online before the Reds’ first home match, and take advantage of the new Auto Renew System, for your chance to win 1 of 3 signed playing shirts!

We will release further details on pricing, and how you can sign-up or renew shortly. Thanks again for your valued support. We look forward to seeing you in 2013/14.

Yours sincerely

Adelaide United Football Club

I'm a bit confused if people ARE feeling this? :-s :?

Unless it's something to do with Jobe Wheelhouse's controversial departure, then GVE's so-called 'team of kids' + Heskey actually did quite well, considering the naturally more modest expectations?

They only JUST missed out on the finals AND, unlike some other teams (Roar and Glory), were in and abouts that top 5 for most of the season?

A number of the young kids impressed and it's quite arguable that the Jets only dropped off a bit later in the season, when goal scorer Heskey was absent due to injury.

You have the likes of Young Socceroo Star CB, Connor Chapman, another Young Socceroos star, Adam Taggart who's form saw him come from relative nowhere to being called up to the NT. Scotty Neville is a player you guys are lucky to have, Glory fans were sore to loose him and he's another who arguably left because of 'Fergie'. Craig Goodwin too, he will only get better. Mitchell was a good acquisition, home boy returning, steady at the back. James Brown, Virgili coming through atlast..

And in Chapman, Taggart, Brillante, Hoole and Oxborrow, you have five young players who are ALL quite likely to make the final Under 20 World Cup squad. Four of them already featured significantly for you guys this past season and surely with continue to, next.

Your team is quite exciting and people should only look forward to it GETTING BETTER?! :o

edit: Correction to 'slight' factual error there, lol. Newcastle fans should still have a bit to look forward to next season, on the pitch anyway?

They have a 33K stadium to fill. I reckon it's a great initiative in an area known to be mostly working class and football friendly.

If they can get the numbers up to 20K even with those prices, it would be a great achievement. If they can get some on field success, their pricing structure will pay off in the longer term.

i think if you want to comment on how the jets have been going, and where they're heading, you need to invest a fair bit of time into watching/listening/talking about them more. because they're much different to how you explain them. i don't expect you to do this, as you have your own team to worry about, but just know that there is a huge sense of "the sky is falling" feeling at the jerks currently, and it's way too hectic and tl;dr to write out in one post.

I'd like to see us ditch that stupid cap for season tickets (they're only memberships if you get to vote). I would rather see AAMI Park full each week then have us risk patches of empty seats only filled for the visit ofADP fanboys or late season bandwagoners, even if they pay more.

I'm confused too, or was, no wonder they aren't happy then, as they DIDN'T obviously, despite having been in top 6 most of the season. My bad, doh!

So I guess that explains to a reasonable degree, why fans aren't happy then?

actually...

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. Yeah, heard about Tinkler issues, most of us A-League fans have. Was hoping you guys may've overcome some of those issues, given 'lack of news' recently, or atleast not posted around here.

You don't need to explain - I know Tinkler has financial trouble, questions over assets, selling off horses etc... Concerns over Jets future because of that. HSG doing/announcing odd things or some such?

You guys have probably discussed it in detail in related threads and in Supporters thread. But again, sorry to hear if issues still on-going. With all the good news of Wanderers and others, Mariners and even your club remind of concerns that still need to be addressed.

As long as Tinkler sticks around and always subsidises the tickets then yeah, it's fine.

As long as you always get higher number of members than you would have through the gates with an average priced ticket again, you're fine.

You guys really need a good season of winning football ASAP I dare say. Another season of that GVE shite and crowds drop to levels of the rusted on support again but they all pay a third of what they used to.

Someone then decides they need to raise the price again to compensate. Then you lose another chunk of fans ala Brisbane a few years ago.

They are hard to get back.

More needs to be done by us promoting the Etihad 5 game memberships. The 18k Aami cap is fine, but we could break 20k if people actually knew about the Etihad passes.

MVFC didn't have any 5-game tickets last season. The 18.7k+ figure represents Full Season tickets, which is quite remarkable. Many AFL clubs in Melbourne don't have 18.7k full season ticket holders.

Before Melbourne Heart - around 2008 or 2009 - MVFC had nearly 25k season ticket holders. This must be our short term aim.

They made the finals

I am confuse about this part.

I'm confused too, or was, no wonder they aren't happy then, as they DIDN'T obviously, despite having been in top 6 most of the season. My bad, doh!

So I guess that explains to a reasonable degree, why fans aren't happy then?

actually...

i think if you want to comment on how the jets have been going, and where they're heading, you need to invest a fair bit of time into watching/listening/talking about them more. because they're much different to how you explain them. i don't expect you to do this, as you have your own team to worry about, but just know that there is a huge sense of "the sky is falling" feeling at the jerks currently, and it's way too hectic and tl;dr to write out in one post.

With all the good news of Wanderers and others, Mariners and even your club remind of concerns that still need to be addressed.

it's not actually that much to do with tinkler that is making jerks fans unhappy. it is nearly all gve-related, both on & off the field.

AUFC membership brochure got released today.

http://premierimages.sportsubs.com.au/files/adelaideunited/attachmentfiles/AUFCMembershipBrochure2013-14.pdf

The early bird special is a nice little saving and I will be looking to snap that up. But $312 for the only seats in shade is quite the pain. Looking at $478 just for me and the three year old to have a seat each... Saving in the end I guess.
