Both Luis Suarez and Georigos Samaras (Uraguaian & Greek) are number nines and are both dishonest in the way they acted in this morning's respective games that they played in.......firstly....Samaras FAKED a trip to gain an advantage over the Ivory Coast in this manner.....Samaras's right foot accidentally brushed the back of his defender and Samaras immediately thought of FAKING a trip by hitting his own heal and falling down.... the stupid Referee pointed to the spot and the Ivorian players were crushed....Greece cheated their way into the final sixteen and should be ashamed of themselves.
Luis Suarez bites his marker and falls down to FAKE that he was hit in the face/teeth......the FIFA judiary should had him an immediate ban from this World Cup......BUT the Uraguaians are sticking by their No.9 ......what a bunch of hyporcrites.

Wrong forum, but either way, I don't think the Samaras one was a dive. I did at first (Just like the Berisha vs Perth one) but after a few replays it seems pretty clear that it wasn't a dive. Whether or not it should have been a penalty, as in whether it was a foul or not, is a different story.
EDIT: LOL, dat video below. 100% penalty.

I think English commentators are retarded, how many times can someone watch a replay and fail to notice the obvious.

How the fuck are people still saying the Samaras pen wasn't a foul?

Clear pen but the camera angles they were showing on SBS were pretty poor and the replays were only beginning after the contact was made.

When I first saw it this morning, I thought it was a dive. Wasn't until I saw the reverse angle (above) that I realised it was clearly a penalty.

Neither player had possession so it comes down to if the Green took out the White deliberately rather than making a fair attempt to take possession.

I don't know what's funnier. The fact that the OP doesn't think it was a penalty, or that he refers to Samaras as a number 9?

was clear penalty because the player impended Samaras from shooting, which potentially was a goal. If its a potential goal and the defender doesnt ge the ball = clear penalty.

You can't take the player out even if your attempt was to get the ball OR if you did actually get the ball. You simply can't take the player out anymore unless it's a 50 and you hit the ball so hard that they go down.

But White did not have the ball, he was just running towards it. And if Green had gone rolling around from being kicked by White ? Edited by jdbbshdvjksb: 26/6/2014 05:49:00 PM

Where the heck does he trip him? From that angle his foot lands well before his.

ryan2008 wrote:Where the heck does he trip him? From that angle his foot lands well before his. Are you serious or just blind? His left leg kicks Samaras leg causing him to kick the back of his own leg. It's as clear a trip as you can get. Out and out ankle tap. You can't run across the back of any player anywhere on the pitch. Notwithstanding the clear video evidence the fact that none of the Nigerians complained nailed the coffin completely shut.

I agree, from this angle. Did Green get sent off ?
