Cost 750k pound.

Great video mate If that stand can be built for 750k pounds in England then it can be built for a $1M in Australia. If an administrator or bureaucrat says it can't be done then other people are better at their job, end of. Frankly, call up the club and borrow their board for a week to sort ourselves out.

At current exchange rates that's about $1,230,975.57 AUD. There's no way in hell that could be built for that amount here. The same structure would probably cost double or more. We have limited competition in the commercial building industry and some very, very profitable building companies.

Convert that whole end to a safe standing terrace and we've got a winner.

Perfect size and all seater for a club with second division aspirations, that article was published late 2015 though Bohemia, are you aware of any recent updates?

Great stadium. Hope they end up adding toilets and catering on the far side of the pitch. Main stand reminds me of the one built in Mudgee. http://m.austadiums.com/stadium.php?id=378

"We are a soccer club but we are a Greek club first. When someone visits our grounds, we want them to feel like they are in Greece," adds Alexandrou, while admitting that West Adelaide Hellas is still facing the old issue of an ethnic name appearing on the team's badge.

Shepparton to host A-League friendly Shepparton will host a pre-season friendly between A-League clubs Melbourne City and Western Sydney Wanderers later this year. The game will played in September at McEwen Reserve and will help launch the new 500-seat grandstand. It will be the second time City, formerly Melbourne Heart, has played in Shepparton, after squaring off against the GNEFA All Stars in 2013. More in tomorrow’s edition of The News. http://www.sheppnews.com.au/2017/07/24/101034/shepparton-to-host-a-league-friendly

Did hear about that one in the last 6 months.
Olympic Village is an awesome venue, has so much room for expansion too if it were ever required. Imagine if Melb City wanted to make it their boutique venue.

No more of this swooping in and stealing grounds off of clubs. It'cringe-worthy and unfair tbh. A-League clubs and owners need to start investing for themselves.

City to Epping Stadium, I've always said it. Hell, if Heart had a spine and actually followed through on creating an identity based on their Northern Melbourne base before it was too late we could have three Melbourne A-League teams right now.

We need to make a decision on our stadium and commit.

MV should be lobbying for a new football specific stadium in inner Melbourne. They have more fans than the Suns & Giants who both had new stadiums built for them recently. If they don't get it then MV will quickly fall behind WSW once Western Sydney Stadium is finished.

That is Hakoah's project. I haven't seen anything about it since the DA got council approval early last year.

When I was there last year, they were in the middle of getting approval. The big issue was getting the funds to put it all together.

If they don't get it then MV will quickly fall behind WSW once Western Sydney Stadium is finished. Melbourne really is a difficult situation. MV chose to sign at Etihad again for 10 years, most likely for 2 reasons, it was cheaper and to grow their fan base as much as possible. Them chosing to play at Aami would or could have driven some fans to City purely from an access to matches reason. FFA iirc signed an agreement to ensure A-League matches at Aami to help get it built. A football stadium would have to have imo at least 65-70k because if it was say 50k Vic gov would still want to play SOO ICC etc at MCG. Which is the biggest part fo the problem, how do you convince an AFL state to build a 65-70k stadium or even 50k seater for MV and SOO, Socceroos, Kangaroos and Wallabies perhaps and NFL like events when MCG can already host them and it would cost nothing to continue playing there?

The thing abut melbourne is that a 50k+ rectangular venue would sit idle for 360 days a year.
Ethihad with the seats in is the best we can do for games bigger than AAMI.

What happens when the contract ends at Etihad?
AFL will either block MV from playing, give them Mon-Thurs match days or charge too much.
I am actually serious when I say, if AFLX is a introduced and successful it may be a driver for a new stadium along with football and other sports. This seems like a long shot though as AFL own their stadium.

I would be surprised if the AFL turned down revenue for a stadium that they are not using. It may be harder during the overlaps but they will want to make it work. Remember they paid for it. They will want some return on that investment.
