 -staff writersA super Saturday with a triple treat of matches on 17 September will kick-off the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) 2016 Finals Series.Bentleigh Greens (Football Federation Victoria) and Edgeworth Eagles (Northern NSW Football) will open proceedings from the Kingston Heath Soccer Complex at 3pm in the fourth edition of the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series, which features the eight teams who finished on top of their respective PlayStation 4 NPL standings at the end of their regular seasons.Attention will then turn to Brisbane’s Perry Park as the Brisbane Strikers (Football Queensland) host Canberra Olympic (Capital Football) at 6pm AEST.Perth SC (Football West) and Devonport Strikers (Football Federation Tasmania) will then face off at E&D Litis Stadium from 6pm local time (8pm AEST) in the third of the Saturday fixtures.Then on Sunday it’s a clash of two former NSL giants when Sydney United 58 FC take on Adelaide City at the Sydney United Sports Centre (kick-off 2pm AEST).The match ups for the Elimination Finals and subsequent Semi Finals were decided by a draw conducted back in July.Perth SC, Devonport Strikers, Bentleigh Greens, Brisbane Strikers, Canberra Olympic and Adelaide City are all making their debut in the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series, while it is the second appearance for Edgeworth Eagles and also Sydney United 58 FC, who claimed the inaugural title in 2013.Other previous winners of the PlayStation 4 NPL Finals Series include MetroStars (SA) in 2014 and Blacktown City (NSW) last year.The winner of the PlayStation 4 NPL 2016 Finals Series will also receive automatic entry into the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup 2017, providing an added incentive for the eight clubs taking part.Every match in the PlayStation 4 NPL 2016 Finals Series will be streamed LIVE on www.nationalpremierleagues.com.au.The PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2016 Finals Series schedule is as follows:

*The club in the left column for the Elimination Finals will host the match in their statePOINTS SYSTEM TO DETERMINE HOSTS OF SEMI FINALS AND GRAND FINALIn order to determine the host Member Federation clubs for the Semi Finals and Grand Final, the following points system will apply at the conclusion of the Elimination Finals and the Semi Finals:
  • Win within regulation time = 3 points
  • Win during extra time = 2 points
  • Win on penalty shootout = 1 point
  • Goals scored (excluding penalty shootouts) = 3 points
  • Goals conceded (excluding penalty shootouts) = -1 point
  • Yellow cards = -1 point
  • Red cards = -3 points
The host of the Grand Final will be determined by the club with the highest accumulation of points across the Elimination Finals and Semi Finals.- See more at:

Can definitely say I did not expect Edgeworth Eagles in the final of this tournament.  All NSW against United too.  Shall be interesting
