Sell a popular public asset for a minority community group? Plenty of free land a bit further out from the cbd, why would they even pay a motza for land they don't need and could get something for much cheaper!

It doesn't really matter what the future use of the land would be - minority community group or the next Trump tower, if they get the right price, they'll sell. But you're spot on on the second point, it would be enormously expensive when you consider all the old hobby farms they could buy for a tiny fraction of the price
