Wow. Sensible or crazy?  I can understand both sides of the argument. He seems to have lost the side with a mix of their poor form.

You win the EPL and get into the Champions League. Something has to give, we're not putting up with that, how dare you win 10 years worth in one season. There's the door over there and take the silverware with you, it's making this place look untidy.🇬🇧

yep, what a decision made - I can't understand it but its never the players fault :)
Mind you the recruiting has been a mess for this season so Claudio has hand his hand on that, losing Kante has been massive and the replacement has been a flop.
Most players got upgraded contracts.
Vardy and Mahrez are no where compared to last season and on and on it goes.

I think that when looked at in the isolation of THIS season, it was a decision that makes sense.  No point keeping the status quo and being relegated because the manager had an exceptional run last season.

What were they thinking? Ask any fan "if you could win the premier league would you mind getting relegated the following season?" They'd take it every time.
Players like Vardy showed loyalty to the club when they could have left for big money, yet the club has shown no loyalty to Ranieri. This decision will hurt Leicester more than relegation would.

welcome back mate.
I still think its a wrong decision and by the press to date not alone.
Sure he may have made wrong decisions but its still got to happen on the pitch.
I'll doubt it would change the course much their on at present.

The fact that he has guided the foxes to the last 16 of the champions league should be justification to keep his job alone.

Fact is they are a very average football team. Seems to me last year's success has got into some of the players heads and they now think they are superstars.

It's not as if they can clear out players and staff between now and the end of the season. This season they are atrocious and we're only on a downward trajectory that would have seen them end up in the championship.

If a new manager helps them stay up then it's 100% the right decision.

With football the way it is now, you just can't risk dropping down into one of the most competitive leagues in all of football because of emotion and history.

And that's precisely why fans are not consulted on how to run a football club, what they want isn't always best. Those same fans who would be happy to get relegated after winning the title would be the first ones to complain if it took years for the club to get back up. Fact of the matter is Leicester can't risk getting relegated and need to do anything they can to stay up with a change of manager being one of if not the only real change they can make right now.

If Leicester were out of the relegation zone this time last season, the club would've been more than happy. Winning last year unrealistically raised expectations. Where they are now is where this group of players should be in reality.

It's also incredibly unlikely that they'll be able to attract a high caliber manager as a replacement. They're an average club with an ordinary group of players whose only attraction is that they're in the premier league - for now.

Agreed. The expectations got higher after being hailed champions last year. Foxes weren't performing well (pre-Ranieri's sacking), blames were all put to him. It's just saddening. But good thing they are now winning their games.

It was wring morally
Iook so,ethings clearly happened behind the scene where we didnt know about that players to play like shit, therefore it wasnt Raneiri's total fauot for the poor peformances of vardy etc. they are grown ass men who are proffesionals who should be playing at their best, after all the manager does not ultimately contol how a player plays, the manager is always totally accountable for the players action even if a porportion of the accountability lies withn the players

Why was it morally wrong?  It wasn't working out, the club was headed towards relegation, the players weren't responding to him...  Something had to change.  As for the manager not ultimately controlling how a player plays...  He selects the team, he motivates them - he's massively responsible for their mind-set going into the games.

Thats true, its ultametly the players who decides their own behaviour yet if a few of them decide to have a bad game the manager is always blamed.

Ohh idk maybe it wasnt morally right because Raneiri literally won them their first ever epl title in the most unlikliest way possible. So many people thought that they would get relegated, no one ever though Leicester would win the title at all it never entred peoples mind and for Raneiri to implement thoose counter attacking tactics was masterful pway.
Even Henry said it was wrong pretty much
