Abolish the blatant & inherent AFL bias from the publicly funded Victorian production of ABC's 'Offsiders' and uphold the ABC's charter of impartiality.

The Australian taxpayers, specifically those in NSW & QLD, should not be funding the explicit cheerleading of AFL and the ignorant demonising of other codes of football. We deserve "our ABC" to reflect & defend the values of our communities, including our sporting preferences, and not just those of Victorians.

The weekly 'expert panel' should at least be comprised of two expert print journalists based in NSW & QLD, who are not ignorant to these communities and who have an intimate understanding of local issues beyond the regurgitation of back page headlines.

Give sports fans in half the country a real voice, after all, it's "our ABC" too!

Our own non-matchday programming is ridiculously poor, hardly expect multi sport programs to give us anything.

Doesn't Roy count as someone who represents the interests of NSW?

I fondly remember when David Moyes was sacked as Manure manager and Caroline Wilson butting in and asking, "Is there an AFL equivalent?"

I usually watch Insiders so I wait and see who the guests are on Offsiders, if I don't see Ange or Francis Leach on there I won't bother.

Stop watching and ultimately it is nothing more than Victorians playing with themselves.

This is the only real way to stop it. I used to watch league and a bit of AFL, but once a saw their agenda against football i just stopped caring. Which means i stop watching. Cant say everybody else has to stop. But if they do, it will stop this too

Have seen it but never watch it now . AFL centric rubbish. The irony is that the show is named after a football/rugby league specific term.

I am not bothered. All it has on the show is AFL, horse racing and cricket. I just don't watch it anymore.

I too used to watch it, until like everything at ABC it went all PC/women and alf, and i completely lost interest.

Ange often appears on the Offsiders- the only coach of any Australian national team who does appear regularly. Francis Leach also knows his football. You can't expect blanket coverage of sockah on a 30 min program devoted to multiple sports.

The ABC should follow the lead of the SBS and increase its public profile by producing more shows focused purely on football.

Who watches Outsiders anyway?

ABC isn't what it use to be. it is a TV Channel that caters to an ideology now or the 40% of society. 

That arty farty episode of Q&A 2 weeks ago really drove it home for me. it was the most ridiculous and absurd thing I ever saw on TV in my entire life. That was the episode with Mem Fox on the panel.

It was really all too looney and really out there. 

Government needs to cut ABC funding. 

As soon as Pinocchio took over as host, the show has turned into his 3 loves AFL, cricket & Horse racing, any mention of football by him usually about our tv ratings, you could say he is Pippinu in disguise. 

I can deal with AFL and NRL getting a fair bit of discussion but horse racing is the odd one. It's pretty niche in comparison and yes it's all because of Gerard Whateley.

Offsiders has always given a heap of time to horse racing during spring and autumn carnivals, and it has nothing to do with Gerard. Each year they dedicate an entire program to horse racing, and the big races are hardly niche in Australia.

What next? Complain to foxsports that of an afternoon they don't have football tonight after NRL tonight and AFL tonight? Jesus.

Pretty sure that if you stop watching a show, they take it off air

the ABC has been hijacked  for years they were calling our game FOOTBALL on the news and generally especially when Adam Spencer was on
but now it's A-league `soccer'. Also this morning on JJJ they didn't even mention the score they covered one item of sport at every bulletin and it was cricket
news that happened 24 hrs ago.

They talk even more about it during the carnivals but it's all year round.

Triple J pushes AFL big time and ignores football and most other sports, which is annoying because I used to enjoy it as an alternative station.

The other one I can't watch anymore is ABC Breakfast because Trioli and the guy are always crapping on about AFL as though it has some sort of special relevance to people in NSW. 

Which makes me figure that the ABC has an agenda to push AFL as a national sport.

It's a good thing that these shows aren't the only sources for this stuff now that we have the internet and social media in particular.
Just stop watching the bloody thing, and let it die.

I don't get the whole "AFL bias" thing going on...I don't hear jack shit about the AFL here in Wollongong. There's no team, no suitable stadium to play it, nobody gives a fuck, not even the traditional newspapers cover it. I've never seen someone in an AFL jersey, and nobody I know watches the AFL.
I've legit seen more coverage on the Wolves than any AFL team here. How about that? A fucking semi-pro soccer team gets more attention than the AFL here! Heck, even the NBL team is more popular than AFL lol.
AFL is totally irrelevant here, so it's fucking hilarious to see what a massive difference there is between sports in literally the same country.

Meanwhile i can't even cross the street or watch TV without seeing something about AFL.
