I was due some form of Spursy seeing we avoided it in reality last season. I think I was about 10 points clear from you with a few games left as well. This year I will have more than one goalscorer though and we will get WEVENGE!

Don't see why not, although it will have to be announced a couple of days in advance when the draft is starting to allow for everyone to see it. For example if all the spots were to fill up tonight I would probably say the draft is going to start Sunday.

Out of last years people we still have BETHFC, Vaughn, Scotty, Imno, Azza, BrisbaneBhoy and Draups who haven't made themselves available but a few of them are no longer active. I believe JLM is still in contact with Imno, so he could probably get Imno to do it if he is interested.

I don't care which team I am associated with although if I had been associated with a different team than the team I choose last season I quite possibly would have finished much higher. I don't think Burnley has been chosen.

Welcome aboard! One of the good things about this I think compared to fantasypremierleague.com is that it requires much less effort. Besides the drafts (one next week, one at the start of September and the final one at the end of January) how much you check the thread is pretty much up to you. Changing your captain can give you a big advantage, but most of us would be on FFT anyway so its not to hard to keep track.

Only four spots left now, just realised Scotty nominated himself in last season's thread at the end of May. But that was the last time he actually posted at all on FFT so if anyone has any contact to him outside the forums chuck him a message and let him know it is back on so I can add him to the list!

If we can't get enough people, what would people rather?

a) Bye Rounds (Traditional) - What it says on the tin, there would be bye teams. Negative of this is that you could get really unlucky and score heaps of goals in your bye round and have them count for nothing.

b) Blank Bye Rounds - Whenever you play a bye team, they count as a blank squad so you still have to score to win. Eg if you play and it finishes 0-0 you only get one point just as you would if you were playing a real person. Except obviously BYE can't score against you because they have no players.

c) Finals series - The season would be shortened by a few rounds, for example if there were 18 teams it would be a 34 game season at the end, and then there would be a short finals series at the end featuring the top 4-6.

d) Shortened season - Season would be shortened in the same manner that it is done in option c, but there would be no finals series leaving the last few games empty.


Hopefully though these options do not have to be exercised, and we can get the last four people in before Wednesday. Irregardless of the amount of people though we will start the draft on Wednesday July 19 at 11:30AM EST.

A or B for me. 

An idea instead of blank rounds could be something like this: say we get to 18 and the two squads not chosen are West Brom and Watford. They could maybe be filled with 4 players from that team and become that team on the ladder type thing?

I think blank rounds are the best of the options but I would like to see teams made up to fill in the gaps. Perhaps by the method Redkat suggested or some other way. It would take players out of the pool for subsequent auctions but that would be the case if we get the full 20 anyway. It might be a bit strange if a dummy team does really well, but I doubt it would happen. 

Yeah for me having an autofill teams creates a bit of unpredictability which is good. Having someone like Robson-Kanu in an autofill West Brom side that just happens to score a hat trick one game and stuffs me over is a bit more fun than knowing every bye you just need one. 

Option A for me. But I'm also comfortable with B if that's what the majority wants.

Option B sounds great. 

I like B, but with Redkat's idea of that bye team having players. 

For example every member could nominate 1 player after the draft, all those players get placed in a pool and randomized between the remaining 'bye teams'. 

Imagine nominating a half decent player only for them to come back and score a hat trick against you :lol:

In the January draft, will the bye teams players be up for redrafting? Say a bye team has a player that has scored a tonne of goals, obviously he would be a target for us "real" teams. If the bye team players can be redrafted, I am a fan of this nomination and bye team players idea.

Yeah I think they should be up for redrafting, this seems like the way to go. So we will have somewhere up to four BYE teams. I have placed Scotty on the list because he asked to be on the other thread, but he hasn't been active since then, if he does resurface then it will be three BYE teams. Or otherwise hopefully other people will join the fun.

Also if people would rather their teams go by real names, such as #TeamAguero, let me know and I will chuck them on the list.

I like the idea of randomly generating the a squad for the empty teams once the auction is done. Maybe based on criteria e.g. 1 goal keeper 2 midfielders and 2 strikers and having that team play the whole season. As PV4 suggested, any stars out of those squads could be made available in the midseason draft and replaced with a new player via the same process. I could script up a generator if you wanted to do this.

Would be very embarrassing to be outperformed by these teams. :laugh:
