Ross McCormack is heading to Australia to kickstart his career after falling out of favour at Aston Villa. McCormack is on his way to Melbourne City in the A-League. The 31-year-old has become a peripheral figure at Aston Villa since falling out with manager Steve Bruce.
McCormack, a £12 million signing from Fulham just over a year ago, fell down the attacking pecking order after upsetting Bruce with his attitude last season. He was given a clean slate in the summer and has been used in Carabao Cup matches, but the Scottish international has struggled to force his way into Bruce's Championship plans with the manager insisting the players ahead of him are more deserving of game time. It is believed that McCormack will go to Melbourne on a loan basis to try to find form and fitness. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-striker-ross-mccormack-13664175

His wiki is an interesting read and has seemingly been unwilling to train or get fit for both Aston Villa or when he went on loan to Nottingham Forest, not a good look for him and you would have to hope that Melbourne City are sure that they know what they're getting with him.

Disappointing if this takes away game time from Braedyn Crowley, what's the point of having him in your squad if you're not going to give him a chance?

This bloke is utter poison in the dressing room. Give him till round six before he gets in a fight with Cahill.

when he has his mind on the job he is an outstanding player, he can either play up top, wide or in behind. Has hold up play in his game or can look to get beyond a target man and his finishing is of top quality.
He had one truly fantastic season at leeds which lead to his move to fulham. Seems to have really gone to shit since then

He would be a great signing for City, former Leeds and Fulham forward who has played in the premier league.

Under the right coach and at the right club he could be dynamite on the pitch. Wrong club though and he's dynamite in the changing rooms lol

Sorry mate you've gotten us at a bad time. Maybe only Tarek Elrich or Ochieng if you want to take a real punt. Or you could develop a player or something

We do have 17 year old Dylan Pierias as our youth RB on a senior contract, didn't look out of place the one game he started last season.

+x31 year old with an attitude problem, poor form and poor fitness. If he thinks he's owed a spot in a championship team he'll behave like he owns an aleague team. He will be on stupid cash to come here... guy was banging them in for Leeds and Fulham like it was going out of style. He will score 30+ this season - you heard it here first.

Dedicated penalty taker accounts for a lot of those goals. No doubting the talent. It's just a simple fact he's not a free settler he's been sentenced to transportation

Very solid when he wants to play but the attitude is the issue. OK Lassogga went to Leeds from Hamburg and has a new outlook on things. Perhaps McCormack just can't behave wherever he goes.
He's the the extrovert type and opposite of Beister. Beister was a talent but just couldn't seem get things to work for himself.

If past behaviour is a predictor of future behaviour then the A League hardly needs an overweight 31 year old pom with a poor attitude. I hope I'm wrong on this

If he leaves the attitude and ego problems in England, starts fresh here, he will be a very very good signing. Time will tell.

I reckon this guy will do well. But really, a club with the expertise of the City Group, should not be relying on 1 striker all season, should always have a decent backup on their books. Same at Victory if Berisha goes down really
