So many sides have released world cup kits. Will Australia have a new one? We've only had this one since 2016.

We've always gotten a new one just before a world cup but the one with the green stripe was an 'in between'  one which I call the Holger shirt. If we change for the world cup the current one will also be one only used between tournaments. The current one hasn't grown on my well. Of course I'm a little superstitious and we've never really performed so well in this kit.

There was a great thread with kit suggestions. I don't get it. We're supposed to have single tone kits in accordance with the FIFA. Germany, Italy and Argentina changed their shorts as did we. How did Brazil get away with blue shirts and we couldn't keep our green?

Whatever the design, my money says the home strip will be coloured yellow (Gold) and green. There I said it. ( BTW, as much as this is tongue in cheek, my tipping has been atrocious this year)

Yeah I follow the Facebook Page and get updates in my feed. Creepy. 

One thing I like about our kit is that the players get the Commonwealth Coat of Arms on their shirts, but it's technically not legal to sell it, so kits we get in Rebel Sport or whatever have a different version like the same kangaroo and emu flaking the FFA logo or in the case of the 2006 vintage they just placed the classic "soccer ball" on top of the shield, but if you want the real deal, you have to earn it.

Everyone else is going retro. Bring back the fucking spew kit officially.

Impractical with all those bloody greens clashing w/the green player-numbers though - if the shades of green were muted lighter, it might work.

Incredibly disappointing that we went from our best kit ever (WC2014/AC2015 collar, green shorts, white socks) to the fucking bananaroos all yellow. The actual jersey by itself isn't too bad, just needs a green shorts combo with it. Fucking FIFA.

Couldn't agree more. Hate our current kit with a passion.

And yes fuck FIFA for this mono-block bullshit they've mandated but the FFA needs to man up and say 'fuck you' like some of the other countries have. The bigger names like Brazil are ignoring FIFA and keeping their kit and we should too.

As for that leaked Aus kit, if true, it's shithouse.

That 'leaked' pic was posted in April last year it looks like. Fair bet it would've been unveiled by now if real.

AUSTRALIA SHIRT HISTORY

To begin with the Australian team wore a sky blue football shirt with white shorts, and maroon detailing on the socks. In 1924 a green and gold coloured kit was introduced. It was not until the 1960’s that the now classic yellow shirt with green football shorts combination was introduced. To this day the Australia home kit features a yellow home jersey, green shorts and either yellow or green football socks.

The Australia away kits are more variable in colour. Often the away kit reverses the home kit colours and is primarily dark green with yellow trim. On other occasions the squad wears a blue away kit in reference to the historical kit, although dark navy blue is more often chosen than the sky blue of the original Australia jersey.

 is correct, then it looks like most countries are ditching the monochrome look and going back to their more traditional colours, e.g., Germany black shorts, England navy shorts, Spain blue shorts, Mexico green shirts, white shorts, red socks, Columbia yellow shirts, blue shorts, red socks, Sweden yellow-blue-yellow, France blue-white-red and so on.  This is great, hopefully Australia follow suit and go with yellow shirts and green shorts.  The monochrome dictate by FIFA is/was a ridiculous rule, contributed nothing except shit strips, and as far as I am concerned diminished the nationalistic atmosphere during games.

I've read before that the first kit in 1922 was blue with maroon. Even as a Victorian, I reckon it would be great to have this "NSW Blue" kit with the "Qld Maroon" trim as our home kit for one year in 2021-22 as a celebration of 100 years of the Australian National Football team. Play away matches in Gold for that year.

To me it doesnt matter that much. Im ok with navy, but wouldnt mind an all dark green kit again. Or white. Just as long as the coat of arms is on it.

I'd really dig an away kit inspired by Aboriginal colours.  Red, black and gold.

Im not sold on the colours for the NT. But there have been many examples where design has been incorporated, Wallabies, NRL, AFL. Im not sure FIFA kit rules but they could get away with something like
