It has taken more than 10 series for the Blues to once again be crowned State of Origin champions. I watched the very first SOO but went off it for a time until this series when the selectors decided a youth policy plus a change of coach was the way forward. No fewer than 9 players debuted for the Blues and most have stamped their authority on the series. One player on the SOO perifery since last year Dragons ball playing, brutal defending lock Jack de Belin finally got his chance and made every post a winner. Others to stake a claim for Kangaroo selection have been Teddy, the Turbo brothers, Damien Cook, Mitchell, Cordner, Cleary and Maloney. Tho imho Cleary has plenty of work needed before he can slip on the iconic Kangaroo jumper. The Maroons, tho beaten were as usual far from disgraced. They too should have a swag of players chosen for the national team. Gone are the big four, but they still have GI and the outstanding Kalyn Ponga. Valentine Holmes should also make the side.. with Ben Hunt, Chambers, Kaufusi, Napa and Dane Gagai in the running along with Blues big man Paul Vaughn. Have your say.
