Good stuff by the Mariners. Now Charlesworth needs to actually invest in his squad. There's no point in having someone like this on board if you're just going to scrape the barrel of NPL clubs to fill out your roster.

The devils in the detail of course and it depends if this is a full time or part-time role. It sounds like he’ll spend a lot of his time staying in Europe which suggests it’s more part time but that can still work.

Don't suppose he could get us Pogba by any chance?
I'll take Rashford if we have to...

I don't think he will be doing particularly much, much like good old Harry Redknapp, but his name attached to the Mariners might help attract some Academy talent away from the Wanderers and Sydney FC. Positive messaging for us at the very least.

Positive news either way.

I think the below quote from the article is more than enough to justify his appointment:
"I am going to be in Australia for a period of time and then I will do what sporting directors do,” he told Hill. “I will be in and out of the country,
examining what other nations around Europe do, making connections on behalf of the Central Coast Mariners
.

There's no point in having him unless Charlesworth plans to actually invest in his squad! Stop counting pennies and have a go ya mug!
