One thing this whole Sanchez situation will thankfully do is stop this stupid idea that he has some amazing attitude that every player everywhere should aspire to.

Funny how much better a back 3 looks when we're not trying to squeeze Ox in. Can only assume Alexis is on the bench because of that little ankle problem he picked up while away with Chile.

Back 3 lpoked good.  And sead beasted it. Shows how much playing  both  wingback in their natural postion. Also hopefully the book boys settle down on alexis. 

Be interesting to see what team we go with on Friday morning. With Chelsea on Sunday I assume we'll go with some heavy rotation. Would not be surprised to see 10-11 changes to the team that played Bournemouth.

Kos is out for the clash against köln. So we probably see  holding and musti together  or maybe holding and chambers

I would assume Per will probably come in.

Welbeck, Ozil, Ramsey, Koscielny, Lacazette, Xhaka and Cech all not expected to play against Koln. No real surprises there.

Assume it will be a front 3 of Giroud, Alexis and Theo. Probably Jack and Elneny in midfield. If it's a back 5 it'll probably be Holding, Per and Mustafi/Chambers with Nelson and maybe Sead in the wingback spots.

Great to see Jack back, and didn't look out of place at all. 

It's clear the back  3 doesn't work with us at all unless we play hector and sead constantly.  

If this goes bad the reaction to Alexis starting on the bench will be great. Not the biggest surprise he doesn't start though tbf.

If I had to point out one thing I like about 3ATB it's the freedom it gives Monreal to make challenges in/near our own half. He is so so so good at it.

And Ramsey with a complete performance, absolute baller. 

If all fit.. Iwobi & Welbz to be replaced by Ozil & Alexis and that has to be our strongest XI, yeah?

Ramsey looked like 2014 Ramsey. Now if he can do that regularly there might be something in this season. The worst part about this result is we've shown we can put in a mature and gritty performance in a big game away from home, so the next time we collapse weakly will be just that little bit more annoying.

Mustafi also looks 1000 times better in the middle of a back 3 rather than on the right of it.

For a complete performance, you'd want it to last 90minutes. He went missing basically after Alexis came on. He was great before that, but went completely missing. I expect more from him by now.

Could potentially be the case. 

Which tbh offers a point of difference, and isn't the same old thing that isn't really working. All it takes is the one moment of brilliance to win you a game. 

Alternatively, how much of Ramsey's wonderful play involved other players? From my recollection, most of the time I was impressed with him was when he was doing things on his own. How much of his good play was him receiving things from teammates - ie him making runs, being open in channels, etc? Genuine question. It felt like to me he was best when running the ball solo. 

Outstanding performance from Elneny! With Xhaka/Ramsey/Elneny and Wilshere returning we finally have a good balance of options available. 

Nacho, our best defender. Can't sing his praises enough. 

Laca- Clinical. Can't wait to see how he combines with Ozil when they've got an understanding. 

Ramsey everywhere and unlucky not to register another assist and got into some good scoring areas. 

Cech's save on Jay Rod was world class, but WBA can feel aggrieved not to have a pen, silly from Mustafi. 

Nacho nancho man. Wenger  got some flack using nancho as a cb but he found a great defender

I would love to know who thought it would be a great idea for us to play Monday night, Thursday night away in Belarus and then lunch time on Sunday. Just fucking stupid.

It's amazing how Jack becomes a ridiculously good footballer when he's not getting the shit kicked out of him by hacks in England. 

It's a shame that we fell out with Roma over a potential Manolas transfer, Jack would have excelled there last season on loan rather than Bournemouth. 

Another average performance from Ramsey.

3atb has to go. It gets the best out of nobody and we're even more defensively suspect than before.

It matches up well against Chelsea and other teams playing 3ATB, that's it. 

Watford game wasn't as doom & gloom as I thought it would be, knowing the result before I watched it.

Xhaka was good, which I never really think.

Per was outstanding, and the goal was an added bonus to a great game.

Nacho was superb also.

Iwobi & Welbz I thought were unusually poor. They really didn't help. Awesome save from Gomes for Iwobi's shot though.

Mesut made an INSTANT impact, which was great. 

But where I thought Wenger lost us the game was dragging Lacazette off. He was IMO our only creative outlet before Mesut came on, and we looked non-threatening until he had the ball. I would have liked to see him and Mesut given more than 6mins together. 

That's more like it. Can't help but feel Xhaka needs to be dropped, recovered from his mistake well but can only take him giving up goals for so long.

What a surprise, Laca, Ozil and Alexis play together for the first time and produce that. Scored 5, should have scored 7 or 8.

Can't drop Xhaka as we don't have a replacement. 

Elneny isn't better defensively or going forward. 

Coquelin should never play in a 2 man midfield.
