Controversial but correct opinion: The invention of the internet makes this generation of music the greatest of all time. There's a genre for everyone and anyone can get their music out and create whole new diverse sounds.

Old people are just ignorant.

What's everyones way of listening to music here? Radio, Cd's, Itunes, torrenting, apple music, tidal, spotify, youtube, pandora, deezer etc.

I used to torrent and buy a few songs for itunes, but I've recently converted to spotify, currently sorting out over 2k songs to add or delete. Haven't bought a cd in like 8 years.

My sister just got Spotify premium so I'm probably going to use that from now on. Before that I bought my music.

I had an iPod classic with about 16, 000 songs on it, that I'd collected over 10 years through CDs, paid downloads and torrents.

Went to use it the other day and the hard drive has been corrupted. I only backed it all up once about 5 years ago, so its pretty much gone. Felt like punching a hole in the wall.

Spotify is great but requires an internet connection, so if I'm travelling somewhere remote overseas and want to listen to something in particular I can't. Sucks big time.

my worst nightmare.  i try to keep everything backed up.  funnily enough my ipod shit itself twice in the first year and had to be replaced twice - luckily under warranty.  since then iave had the same one ticking along for about 7 years.  battery life is starting to go now though.

Spotify supports offline play too.

I've recently begun removing my digital clutter, I just cleared about 500 movies off my hardrive, and im beginning to clear my music too. I just dont think theres any point hoarding music or tv, and obsessing over what you have or dont have(well at least i did in my case) which you'll probably never listen to or watch again, esp when you have all this on demand content now that can be streamed.

New QOTSA single took a bit of time to grow on me, but I love it. Never realised I was a sucker for funky swing rock.

i am not going to lie i have not heard the most recent album but i actually somewhat like heavy, listening to waiting for the end and he has such an amazing voice

he was seriously a childhood hero of mine, i am wondering what linkin park are going to do i cant imagine them trying to go on with a new singer but i think they might because its what chester would have wanted or something, very sad news though i didnt believe it at first

I went through the obligatory Nick Drake phase.
Good stuff but never find I'm in the mood for it anymore
