After the big pay dispute has finally been resolved, there are some interesting selections for Bangladesh.

O'Keefe has been left out , despite taking a lot of wickets in the Indian series. I'm not sure whether this is due to form, or off field issues?

The fast bowling combo of Starc, Hazlewood, Pattinson and  Cummins, seems destined never to play aTest together, because of injury. Pattinson has again been ruled out because of back soreness.

I've never seen Swepson bowl. Warne seems to love Swepson and dislikes O'Keefe's bowling.

I think I've read somewhere that with the two day lead up game washed out in Bangladesh, Australia will start playing the First Test in a few days with no warm up game. This makes it difficult for the Aussies to acclimatise!

Yep the game was completely washed out - the ground was flooded.

It seems as though they are going to go for Agar over Swepson as the second spinner after Lyon, probably for his bonus batting ability.

I'd rather see them use the best specialist bowler. Without batting ability being taken into consideration, is Agar a better long form bowler than Swepson in subcontinental conditions?

I think the next test is at Chittagong.

From what I've read, Australia goes down to 6th in international rankings.  It has been suggested that Handscomb  replaces Wade as keeper/batsman. Cartwright could play instead of Khawaja as Australia might go in with only Cummins as a specialist fast bowler, hence, needing Cartwright to share the new ball. The other possibility is that  Steve O'Keefe is supposed to be flying to Bangladesh as Australia considers the possibility of playing a  three man spin attack - Lyon, Agar and O'Keefe.

Cricket Australia must have grovelled to O'Keefe in the last day!

Lehmann has said that the team is hurting after a lot of criticism from Australia. O'Keefe thought Agar was the best batter in the first innings! He congratulated him on his improved bowling via text.

I suppose an attack made up of Cummins, Cartwright, Lyon, O'Keefe and Agar could be on the cards if the next wicket is as spin friendly. Given Khawaja's lack of footwork against Spin, Cartwright can't do much worse. His bowling is military medium pace of 120kph though. It is hardly a threat.

Cartwright is being touted as an all rounder but he is clearly a better batsman. He has a healthy first class batting average of 44 (but thats only after two seasons).

His bowling average is only 40 by comparison. I don't think he's any better with the ball than some of our older part time bowlers like Greg Blewett or Damien Martyn.
