seedings are based on the FIFA Rankings to be released on Thursday April 12th.

Best (most boring) Group:

Vietnam

There are reports coming out of various Asian countries, that the seeding will not follow the FIFA rankings.
That the teams who participated in the 3rd round of World Cup qualifying will automatically be placed in Pots 1 & 2.
Their FIFA rankings suffered by losing WCQ against stronger teams, where those teams that got to play Asian Cup qualifiers had their FIFA rankings boosted by beating much weaker teams. Again showing up the flaws of the FIFA rankings.

In that scenario these would be the Pots
Pot 1: UAE, Japan, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, South Korea
Pot 2: Iraq, Qatar, Syria, Uzbekistan, China, Thailand
Pot 3: Lebanon, Palestine, Oman, India, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan
Pot 4: Bahrain, Jordan, Yemen, North Korea, Philippines, Turkmenistan

The AFC have yet to confirm anything about the draw process other than the date and venue.
