Gumby loves his wingers so from what I’ve seen from George he’ll do the job. With Kamau and Riera I’m pretty happy with that front line.

Berisha's contract extension makes no mention of him being marquee for next season. Particularly with his citizenship and loyalty, I wouldn't be surprised if he became a cap player next year.

That would definitely change things. But citizenship doesn’t mean he gets any cheaper. It will depend on how his contract is balanced

If SFC an fit adrian under the cap then surely MV could fit George. They have no squad depth at all. Where else could the money go?

If it came to it you'd drop Troisi in a second the keep George. If MV don't do this they're a laughing stock. It's daylight between the 2 quality wise. 

Troisi is on 2 years so they can’t drop him, not without paying a whopping great big golden handshake.

George will be commanding marquee wages after this season. Merj is on a longer deal so he’s stuck on his wage or he has to renegotiate, but he has no leverage with Sydney. Potential buyout coming there.

I don’t know if you’d call MV a laughing stock if it happens. There may well be nothing they can do to stop it if Wanderers or Brisbane come offering big money

Source said Elrich and Leroy George would be announced at the same time. Elrich just got announced by the club 10 minutes ago.

Yeh just read the Elrich announcement. I'm happy with him coming back but not sure if he's back as cover or in a starting 11.

Llorente has also been re-signed. Elrich will cover the wing backs. He’s well aware he will need to fight for his spot post injury.

I highly doubt one of the best players in the league last season would be signing with us under the cap. If that was the case he'd simply stay put at Melbourne Victory. 

Why would he stay out if he was offered a bigger contract? People are getting hung up on this marquee tag issue. If he offered more, and he likes the move, he will go.

We ditched two ridiculous salaries in Herd and Jumpei. The cap space those two took up would comfortable entice a move.

Herd would have been on a fair bit but from what I had heard Jumpei wasn't on a big salary at all. Anyways I hope you're right.

Just Saturday a good mate who works for Wanderers said leroy was quite literally leaning against his desk on wednesday. All the suits were high fiving as he left.

The marquee issue is the part I’m not certain of. Only one source with the inside track and he’s said under the cap, but that’s all I’ve got.

Would be very surprising if he's under the cap. On what 200k at MV? After his season he'd surely want 4-500k. If both clubs were offering about the same, say 250-300k he'd stay at the successful team so WSW would have to offer a lot more 

At 31, nearing end your career, you are taking what you can surely. My understanding is contract has more than doubled. Wanderers can shove him under the cap for now, and if we load up on other players we can move him out. They've got a lot of space after the exit of Herd.

Same source gave me the Riera news 3 months in advance and believes he is under the cap. I'm inclined to take his word for now. Coupling this with a personal friend verifying his attendance at HO and the fact that JT told the execs that the other marquee would be saved for the new coach makes me swing toward 'under the cap'
