Them's fightin words. He's coming from a position of strength but he better hope they don't get the shits and leave him rotting on the pine (as bad a commercial decision as it might be)

Must have been an awful experience.
You would think he would coming back full of confidence thinking he will be getting game time after such a good loan spell.
So if that is he's train of thought without even stepping foot through the door at the club that tells you one thing....he must find a way to leave

+xDoesn't paint him in a great light to be honest Yeah, it sounds pretty weird. Definitely should be more diplomatic. Just comes across as kinda rude and desperate.

Sounds like either he’s ego is getting in the way of his logical thinking or he must have had a horror settling in a country like Germany.

Well if he had culture shock and a bad employer I can relate to that It's a terrible feeling I can relate too, but it's not exactly smart to burn that bridge so publicly. I get that he probably blames the club for missing out on the world cup, but he really should've kept his mouth shut while the disappointment is still so raw. This does him no favours.

If he had s good record there then maybe he could give his remarks some leeway, but this is poor.
Hopefully he can take his disappointment and harness it to take his game to the next level.

Don't blame him, fight for respect. Obviously he thinks sitting on a bench is not for him. It's about saving face to some degree and by him doing this he is making a statement that he feels unfairly treated.

Already has by the way he's playing. Could also be that Darmstadt just wasn't for him A step down perhaps ? who knows. We all know he can't play winger or the such

Darmstadt took the piss. They talked him up to the media. They played him all pre season and he did very well only to bench him when the season started. He was then thrown on to save games and instructed to just run anywhere.
He had a point blank shot brilliantly saved in Kaiserslautern. That was his best game. After that Frings went crazy. In winter, the former manager returned and had a lot of his previous players as favourites.

Good on him. He needs to get his career on track and has shown he can score. Coaches can kill players careers. They pick favourites.
As for the SPL or the A_league not being much chop yeah well good A-League players like Mooy and Ryan are matching it in the EPL, why couldn't JMac do it in bottome half second division German village club.

He would've been better off just leaving it at "I'm happy at Hibs". Pot the club when they no longer own you, and definitely don't pot the country. There's still 35 other "pretty good" prospective employers there.

He's just saying it as it is, he was brought in and given number 9 in Germany but never given a fair go, especially after Frings got the sack, and now he's had a chance to prove himself he's banging them in for Hibs.
He's making it clear he doesn't want to stay there, and why should he?

Appears he had culture shock too. Writing Germany off completely is a bit odd.

He's making it clear he doesn't want to stay there, and why should he? agree. he says they were playing him out of position. which might help explain his absent goal return. he has a right to say he doesnt want to go back. he is just putting pressure on them to sell. he's in a good spot with hibs. perfect stepping stone from the AL.

McLaren has yet to score against quality opposition. He goes missing against elite defensive teams.
To slag off a whole country because he wasn't given a fair go at one club in the 2nd division is insane.
