How did you choose your forum name?
Well, I’m a female from New Zealand :P . Not highly original, but I come from the country that consists of the North Island and the South Island. As for the 1, that was actually a mistake haha I wasn’t used to typing my email as co.nz and so I had to make a second account, but of course the username had to differ.

I’ve never played in a team that’s used numbers for the jerseys before but if I could’ve been a number I’d pick 7. Dunno why though, I just like that number.

Actual post: I don’t really write letters. The last one I remember sending was when I was 8 and it was to Santa telling him what I wanted for Christmas.
Forum: A whole lot of bitching and whining with a bit of posting on Nix articles, whilst searching for fellow NZ fans and females.
At what point did you realise you weren't going to make it as a professional footballer? Can you tell us a little about your amateur football career or any other sporting career?
Well I only started playing when I was 10, had only played netball before that, and turned up for my first game not understanding why the whole team was starting on just one side of the field. I improved heaps though but due to Capital Football, my only choice of playing since the age of 13 has been a women’s team, or school team so my interest kind of faded. I probably won’t play this season, especially since I couldn’t make it to the trials for 1st XI.
Apart from that though I’ve briefly played indoor netball, tennis, touch rugby, and hockey.
Where are the burgers better?
I’m keen for some Subway at the moment.

Has to be FIFA, it’s the only one of those that I’ve ever played.

Favourite Phoenix player of all time?
Daniel. He was amazing in the first season, but unfortunately hasn’t been doing too well lately, he’s had the flair crushed out of him a little and just hasn’t been getting much game time. He’ll always be a fan favourite though, he’s great with the kids, gets involved in the community and got his citizenship here as soon as he could. Top guy.
Currently?
Hard choice, but, Paul Ifill. So exciting to watch and does contribute a lot to how we do in the season.
Greatest Phoenix game?
Either one of the two playoff games against Perth or Newcastle from the season before. The one against Perth was so intense cause of the penalty shoot-out, but the game against Newcastle did mean more for us in terms of results. Both were beautiful afternoons at the Ring of Fire though, unforgettable being in that type of environment.
Favourite Phoenix memory?
Coming 3rd. Twas amazing to celebrate in hindsight :D .
Worst Phoenix memory?
Almost any away game. And that preliminary final at the SFS.
Funniest Phoenix memory?
When we beat Gold Coast 6-0 at home. Such an epic game, and it was quite a laugh getting to chant “Smeltzy, what’s the score?!”

Active support. Our seats are right next to the Fever Zone, so it’s impossible not to join in the chanting.

Which team in the A-league do you have more of a liking to?
I generally have a soft spot for teams with Kiwis in them but this season Brisbane Roar was definitely my second favourite team.
What is your view on the finals series system?
Personally I love them, they’re so great to watch and generate more excitement and good crowds.
Where do you see the a-league in 5 years time?
Financially stable with 15 teams (2 Kiwi teams :) ) and a second tier with some of the smaller state league teams. All the teams will have a regular fan base of over 10000 and there’ll be top teams from all over the world scouting our players.
What would you do to entice more big names to the A-league?
Big money I guess.
What is your summary on the A-league season?
I thought it was a much higher standard of play in general, with lots of teams stepping up and a higher quality of players. Off the field though, things didn’t go so well and the fixture schedule was crap. The Grand Final made up for a lot of it though, Brisbane were just immense this season.

Manchester United :D . My dad used to like them when he was a kid growing up, they were the only team he would watch on the Match of the Day program, so maybe that transferred to me a little. I’m also just sick of the ABU type mentality. I wouldn’t call myself a fan of them though, I don't care too much about the EPL.
And Leyton Orient. I don’t follow them but it’s my grandads club.
I also have a soft spot for Blackburn because of the Ryan Nelsen connection.

I can’t really admire them if I hate them…
Club or Country?
Probably club. The Nix were the reason I started watching football and I haven’t seen the All Whites play much, although watching them at the World Cup was just the greatest thing.

Music, hiking, reading, Hutt bumming, outdoorsy stuff, I watch a bit of rugby and cricket too.

Well it’s the footballing capital of New Zealand, the home of the mighty Wellington Phoenix, and the weather can actually be nice here every so often! When it’s a good day, it’s a great day.

I have no idea. On the off chance that I would be alive after that, I have family in Auckland that I could probably stay with.
When I go to New Zealand later this year, I’ll be going to Lawrence...where else would be the best place to visit?
After consulting Google Maps to find out if a place called Lawrence even existed, I would recommend you to go to Queenstown if you wanted to stay in that area. It’s a fantastic tourist location with heaps to do, but it’s at its best in the winter (that’s if you like skiing and snowboarding and such). Otherwise you can come and see me in Wellington.

Trying to use the self-checkout machine at the only supermarket in Ohakune. Me and my sister were always sent to get the groceries and whenever we used the machine it kept stuffing up and requiring staff help, but in such a way that it made us look like total idiots. We had a good laugh at the fact that they probably thought we were some small town people who had never seen eftpos cards or self-checkouts before, even though we’re the ones from a real city.
