+x+xNot just Johnny though, his whole entourage as well, let the clean out begin, that includes some players as well. Was anybody else embarrassed watching that? Like really embarrassed  Yeah. Im glad I'm currently in a resort somewhere........ Well Tassie. So I didn't have subject myself let be to the shit. On paper I feel we could be killing it. But that doesn't mean anything. Tassie nice, yea, I feel sorry for all the members who signed up this season.

Anyone think Macca might have a case to answer at the MRP for the punch in the head?

Just saw it on Fox - pretty clear hit to the head, something between a punch and an elbow. I'm very surprised that the VAR decided no action required.

Can someone tell me what the Roar football directors role is ? I am not being sarcastic. I genuinely wonder. A Football Director at a Junior club gives guidance and training to inexperienced coaches. What does one do at an A-League club like the Roar ? Obviously he can't give advice to JA as Craig Moore has never coached at a Senior level. So what does he do and what is his role ? Also is it just me or do we not have an on field leader ?

another question...do we still have a strength and conditioning coach ? I heard a few weeks ago ours was fired....was he replaced ? If so by whom ? I also noticed that unlike previous years the team did not get together for warm down stretches after the game as they used to. I realize that they may simply do them inside or somewhere else but I guess my brain is looking for reasons for the lack of .....well.....pretty much everything ! ....fitness, zip, determination ,cohesion, combination and simple things like being able to pass to a player on your own team . I know the team is old but they should be far better than they are showing.

@ miron
Football Director - forget Moore giving advice to Aloisi that’s not the role of the FD at Brisbane. Aloisi runs the football side of things and Moore runs the operations side of football.
The non-football equivalent to Moore would be Brendon Boss who’s GM of operations, he ensures the stadium and everything to do with it is right on game day, Moore ensures the players turn up at the right place and have everything they need; and Aloisi’s job is to ensure the players perform. There’s no overlap in those three roles.

@ miron
Pretty much. It’s just a fancy title but Roar have just over 200 staff most of which are in football operations so he is “an administrator” for that lot

@ Mr. B
Dont think any club lists anything too specific, at a guess with Roar:
34 staff as listed on Wiki 16 office/admin support staff not listed. 23 first team players 45 Y League players 20 W league players
That totals 138 leaving a gap of 62 .... not included in this is the RAP program which is massive serving about 75,000 kids across QLD - could there be 62 in there? Possibly I guess ...

Update on Brisbane’s new $9m A League HQ in Logan; details are still scant but it’s planned opening is in January so we won’t have long to wait: https://au.sports.yahoo.com/football/a/37788596/logan-perfect-for-new-roar-a-league-hq/I drove past it last week and the four pitches are looking ready, the car parks done and the main building is well under way (but finished by January with Christmas in the way???)

“More corporate welfare” ... please, do waste more forum space exploding “more welfare”, what friggin welfare has this club ever received?
In 13 years of operation it’s done something like:
- paid $15m to the State Government to rent Suncorp Stadium - paid $7m in city transport levies - generated about $15m In GST payments all of which flow back to the State - paid about $2m in payroll tax to the State
That’s about $40m that the club has paid in taxes before you get to the economic benefit activity which will be something like $50m+ so I guess you could say it’s pulling it’s weight.
But angry little white ants will still have their say 😂😂😂

Sport is entertainment not a public service. Let this joke of a club die.

Awwww .... someone’s upset.
$30m In to netball
$200m into an NRL Stadium
$millions in to Broncos training ground
$50m promised to the Reds
$millions for Dolphins RL to build a stadium
$millions invested on the Gold Coast in to various sports.
Yeah, I think the world will keep turning because Brisbane Roar just got their first government assistance in 13 years 😀

Yeah, I think the world will keep turning because Brisbane Roar just got their first government assistance in 13 years 😀 So you think I support these other sporting entities getting government money? They all shouldn't be. Sport should get zero. And if sporting organisations need money, take out a loan or get investors. And with government investment, guess what? No incentive for the Bakries to not be shitheads. So this would only prolong the Bakries being around.

Logan mayor Luke Smith joked the club should be renamed 'Logan Roar' as gratitude for the arrangement. Might be another name change for the Logan Lions once Bris City/Bris Strikers come in... :)
Seriously though it's good news.
