Loving this FIFA, and loving the amount of people going 'this FIFA sucks' because their Ibarbo isn't scoring 42134 goals a game.

I finally got on, played 2 FUT Draft matches, then played the semi final, won 4-2 but get the fucking stupid disconnected message after FT and have to go back into FUT. Luckily there was no result recorded so was able to play it again, until I get disconnected in the 49th minute and have a loss recorded and lose that draft progress =d> =d>

Not sure there will be anymore squad updates for 15.

Love the passing element, but the AI is so fucking OP and since I don't have enough coins to get good players and my current squad is dogshit, I don't feel like getting spitroasted online against coin buying twelvies.

I literally cannot regain the ball. What the hell is this shit? Playing as Arsenal vs Watford on professional and they've got 64% of the ball. Not to mention I'm currently 2-1 down due to a bullshit penalty after Bellerin ran into a player in the box after a through ball rolled to Petr Cech and he'd already picked it up and Ben Watson getting in the way of a long throw and immediately volleying it at the goal.

I'm trying to play a possession game and it's literally impossible as the AI seems to be able to read my controller's inputs and react and respond accordingly, meaning everything gets closed off and once they get the ball, I'll try and run up to them and grab it back and they'll just pass it off to someone else. I can never intercept any of their passes or crosses, which means that half of the time, I have to wait for A) The AI to score a goal, B) The AI to miss a goal or C) The AI to do something so ridiculously stupid that it would take the "intelligence" OUT of "artificial intelligence".

Bowden, please tell me EA are going to patch this AI, this is ridiculous. Can't play FUT as single player FUT is unwinnable, even in Div 9, thanks to the AI being OP as fuck and I can't play online as my squad isn't good enough and I don't have enough coins.

In FIFA 14, sweaty players and crosses to the far post would get you wins.

In FIFA 15, sweaty wingers, strong strikers and lobbed through balls would get you wins.

In FIFA 16, NOTHING get you wins.

This game is like the Dark Souls of FIFA. Watford shouldn't be playing like Barcelona. ](*,)

26 games into a season on career mode (as coach). Have 5 wins, a few draws, mainly defeats. However, in 26 games I've only scored 13 goals. Man Utd are top of the league and in 26 games they've only scored 36 goals! So it clearly takes the ridiculous defending and poor striking into simulations too!

I may have to experiment with longer games, because the only way to do well appears to be extremely patient with possession, literally bore the AI to sleep and wait for him to commit a player too many to midfield, then slot the diagonal balls through to the strikers... Then you have the problem of finishing, because the diagonal across the keeper doesn't appear to be nearly as effective.

Oh, and the only formation I've found that appears to have any success is 4-4-2 (Diamond). With only 1 striker I have no chance, with two it seems easier to draw an extra defender toward the ball carrier and away from the spare man - then a little pass and you're in.

Agreed everyone has a German quality back four :lol: any sort of switch of play when moving the ball forward, or long balls immediately get intercepted, but it's much more realistic in terms of game play, player movement, etc.

I'm actually enjoying it a lot more. The priority for me is to keep the ball, be patient and take your chances. I think because of that it's a lot more exciting. The game is generally a bit a slower too and based around ball control and playing the way you're facing.

You can't be turned one way and then magically hit a 40 yard pass in the opposite direction you're facing to your wingers feet. Much more realistic.

The finishing is something I'm struggling with, going to take a bit of getting used to. I've missed some absolute sitters and quite a few one on ones on FIFA 16. FIFA 15 I would have slotted them.

So how do I git gud in FIFA 16? This game just isn't clicking yet. I have a few moments of brilliance, but for the most part, the OP AI ruins everything.

One thing I noticed yesterday - I signed two midfielders from France, both very good technical players (Sanson and Saivet) and noticed an immediate pick-up in my midfield. Ratings wise they are a little better, but they just seemed to be able to turn and pass better than the previous midfielders. Seb Larsson, although having a lower rating, always seemed to do better than Johnson, Cattermole and Rodwell in midfield as well. So it would appear that good ball-control is more important on this than on previous versions.

Pace also appears more important than before. Previously an 80 paced striker could outstrip most defenders and get you in on goal, I had to find a cheap (but good) striker with a 90+ pace rating to make any impression up front. If you're looking for one on the cheap - Marco Sau does a great job.

It feels weird this FIFA, pace doesn't feel as important online but feels more important against the AI.

Playing career mode with my Pro - He plays for Melbourne city - beat wellington in the final to win the cup - played in the ACL but they call it something else in fifa16. Won that now in my 2nd season finished top of the league.... getting used to the game now. I wont use spring as much that Is working wonders.

Also there is pretty much no improvements to pro clubs. Will forever have that 'pro clubs lag' :(

Alright I'll prefix this by saying that I've only been playing FUT online and seeing as I'm doing pack only I've been using some pretty average players and my chemistry has basically been between 50 to 80.

As I've said before my game was based on tons of small passes in previous Fifa's, now due to the changes of passing in this game its made my life difficult- blind passing is not on and you can really only through ball when your players are in space (that's fair enough imo).

However passing out from the back can be absolute hell and in most cases I'd be better off hoofing it all game long.

What's really annoying me is that I like to take my time to build my attacks but when I get down to the oppositions 20 yard box he has at least eight guys behind the ball making it virtually impossible to breakdown given the inconsistencies of the passing.

People saying pace doesn't matter is bs imo it's still very lethal. See as I'm camped around my opponents box eventually I'll turn it over and next thing you know he has three or four pacey mofos against my two slow CB's and I end up getting mauled.

So with all that said I think the way to play the game is to be aggressive plenty of L1X & R1X (PS4), when there is space in the midfield you just have to take the game on and try get inside the oppositions box before they get everyone behind the ball.

Shooting needs to be made easier/GK's toned down as well.

Feels like nothing matters in this game. Oh, you've got some pacey strikers there. Too bad, they're going to get beaten for pace by frickin Mertesacker. Some fast full backs, too. Luca Toni's faster, though.

Not to mention you literally cannot wrest the ball from their grasp either.

The fact that I also haven't scored a single penalty all day (won four in two games vs MV and CCM, all four were saved) has me convinced that the AI works by reading your controller's inputs and can play around your efforts.

Been having a lot of fun in FUT with this squad so far.

Re Penalties just shoot centre and high. :d

Two tips for people struggling with the new game:
1. Use the R1 pass, adds extra power and is a god send. Use it through midfield to beat the new interceptions and improved defending. Passing through the centre is impossible with out it.
2. Never pass on a 180, it will fuck up. Take time to compose yourself, also avoid doing difficult shots or passes when you are off balance or on the weak foot.

bit the bullet and upgraded to fifa16 today. $69 at jb. I sole reason Im on fifa and not PES is because of squads. Not having updated squads on 15 was killing me.

im having a hard time finding info on the gameplay changes (like the R1 thing). is there a training on the game for this?

It's almost impossible to get the ball back if I lose it because they'll play ultra conservative, ultra defensive football. Wat do?

Literally impossible to play a possession game, because they'll intercept the first pass that comes within five metres of one of their players and whenever I try and get the ball off them, they'll either pass it to someone else before I can even try or I'll challenge them fairly, but the ref will blow the whistle anyway.

Actually going to agree with you here Salmon.
Career mode is going to get boring quickly if every time I turn th ball over the opposition just knocks it around between their back 4 and CM. Stock standard that they do this for 3 mins of real time then pass it to some munt who scores from wherever he decides to shoot.
Im finding tackling much more difficult - mainly getting the ball back from intercepts, while they can dribble through to the box with ease. Meanwhile the AI has a 100% tackle rate and I cant change direction without getting belted by 2 defenders.

Keepers are way better in this game than 15.

Im playing Career on World Class and have a winning record, but have been frustrated by the AI tactics making it unfun. Id rather lose 5-0 than chase the ball around a back 4 for no reason. Its just as challenging to beat Bournouth as it is to beat Chelsea and City.
