Binged through Broadchurch season 1 recently. Thought it was great, although unfortunately I picked it pretty early. Regardless, the performances were what made it great.

Was disappointed to see that it's been renewed for 2 more seasons. The first season wrapped up so nicely that adding more is just greedy.

You're very welcome. It's a series that is horrendously under-hyped, especially considering how good and respected the cast is.

The human themes it deals with really took me by surprise for a crime period piece.

I didn't even realise that Solomons was Tom Hardy until I looked it up on imdb, just that he was really really familiar.

You should check out Weeds, it's created by the same person and has a ridiculously funny cast. It's all about dealing weed in the suburbs and is sort of like a darker but hilarious Desperate Housewives, definitely the sort of show both sexes can enjoy equally IMO.

Really loved True Detective. It just finished its re run on showtime last week.

Set up as a prequel to Treasure Island and basically a better grittier Pirates of the Caribbean. Main arc of the first season is this ship's hunt for a Spanish treasure galleon and the 2nd season so far is dealing with the fallout of that. Features a bunch of real-life pirates fictionalised for the show.

Personally I loved it and can't wait till the next episode

I didn't mind it but I thought the dialogue and acting were a bit rough in patches, also it has a few too many similarities to The Killing which was bugging me. I was googling the show when it was done to find out how many episodes it will run for and I came across an interview in which Rebecca Gibney said The Killing was a big influence, hopefully they distance themselves from it more in the later episodes though.

I thought it was based on it so that didn't bother me

You're not missing much IMO, I was pretty disappointed with it.

The way the opening few minutes and a few later scenes are shot just does not fit the style of anything we'd seen before which threw me big time, I can't explain it much more than that without spoiling.

[spoiler]Even though such an important character died it still felt like such a nothing episode IMO, it's a real shame they made Tyreese a pussy as I believe this isn't the case in the comics? Also as much as I hated the hallucinations having The Governor back was the only highlight of the episode for me, I'd forgotten how good a villain he could be.[/spoiler]

The rerun starts on FX+2 at 10:30... So nervous

I must say, that the mid season break has made me lose interest a fair bit. Watched all of Vikings across that break which is just outstanding television.

Ahhhh get fucked! I'm one ad break in and already upset :(
