Full time around the grounds:

Blacktown Spartans: 3
Parramatta 0

Bonnyrigg White Eagles: 3
Sutherland: 0

South Coast: 2
Manly: 0

Apparently Matthew Nash had been signed for Parramatta from Newcastle Jets only hours earlier. Not exactly the debut he'd have wanted. Early on I know, but I get the feeling Parramatta are going to be the whipping boys of the NSWPL again this season.

went to the spartans vs melita game.
Matthew Nash had a shocker for the third goal. was a simple diving shot to save, and the ball went straight throw his hands.
spartans did deserve the win, but i think 3-0 was a bit flattering.
melita has some players who have great skill level, but just wont shoot.
i have said it for a while that i definetly dont think spartans will finish last or anywhere near there, they have a big test against olympic next week.

Due to recent drainage works at the Ilinden Sports Centre, today's game between Rockdale and Blacktown has been moved to Seymour Shaw Stadium in Miranda.

was really 2 poor mistakes that gifted the 3-0 scoreline to spartans.......nash dropped a text book save and a defender made a easy mistake to give them the second....would have been alot different if parra buried there 3 simple chances first half and slotted 2 one on ones that they choked on.....parra have a decent squad of very very recent newcomers as Mltezr said the this lineup is approx 2 weeks old so in weeks to come i expect vast improvements........

nice try heiny...how is it playing in 23rd division between the sticks????

The Japanese imports look great this season for Blacktown City and Parramatta FC. Maybe looking to do a Hiro Moriyasu??

If by looking to do a Hiro Moriyasu you mean to be shyte, then I dont think so, the Jap guys from Melita and Blacktown look very good unlike Moriyasu

And being 'brilliant' is the last thing you'd call Moriyasu.

you guys are all full of it......if you knew anything about football or coaching you know that it's very common for a player to step up to a higher level then after some time plateau off for some time, this is when the manager usually spells them and then it's an uphill battle to break back into the starting squad, when Moriyasu went from APIA up into the SYDFC squad he was the talk of the town......so he could return to this form by going to a club with a decent coach......Lavicka isn't an inspirational coach...he is dead boring, how any player could be motivated under him is beyond me......and his style of football (if you can call it that) is shyte and then some......i'm prayer western sydney can put a decent club together so i have something good to support....but support i will no matter how bad it is......

Shows how little you know about football if you think Lavicka can't motivate players and is a shit coach. Last time I checked shit coaches who can't motivate players don't win a double on their first season in a new country or win numerous trophies and be named coach of the year in their country of origin.

so he is the reason they won a double????...your fucken kidding......have a good look at the player listing and who was retiring...SYDFC has been run by the players for 3 seasons now because the caoches are so shit........

when they won the double lavicka didnt recruite a player....LOL they were just about all signed........ so when he did have an influence in player selection it all goes down hill....have you ever dealt with him???? met him??? played under him??? had a player coached by him?????

You're full of shit, batfink. Didn't recruit a player?

This was our transfer list from when Vitja took over:

Out:
- Iain Fyfe -> Adelaide United
- Brendon Santalab - North Queensland
- Robbie Middleby - North Queensland
- Jacob Timpano - North Queensland
- Beau Bussh - North Queensland
- Nicolas Tssatlios - Newcastle
- Ryan Walsh - Blacktown City
- Dezmond Giraldi - Wollongong
- Adam Biddle - relased
- Bobby Petta - ??
- Michael Enfield ??

In:
- Karol Kisel
- Sebastian Ryall
- Stephan Keller
- Byun Sung-Hwan.

He got rid of players he knew were not going to be of any use, and brought in further experience in the defence and midfield to aid Aloisi, and Corica and the rest. He also kept the squad in line and their minds focused during what was arguably an extremely difficult time for the club off the field regarding the Sebastian Ryall case.

His knowledge and tactics were perfect for an experienced team like we had in 09/10. He's admitted publicly that he dropped the ball in the second season, underestimated the effect of the big players retiring, and not doing enough to retain certain key players as well as replace them. He's publicly held his hand up and taken responsibility for that. He transformed our club professionally on and off the field. Vitja did a lot more for this club then all our other coaches combined.

what a laugh....bought in 4 shit players....and what about this season???? what a farce......rubbish coach....rubbish team....played rubbish.....SYDFC...need a big cleanout...they are constipated......they might have played 4 decent games this year , the rest have been boring lacklustre games and absolutely no consistency....every second half of football has been a vast departure from the first half......and your right if he is the best coach sydney has had....fark we are in trouble......

SYDFC "aspiring to mediocrity"

Mate you are a complete idiot.

The manager picks the starting XI, tactics, substitutions and motivates players. If we look just at the team who played in the final, Keller, Byun and Kisel were all bought to the team by Lavicka. Funny that the Keller/Colosimo partnership was the key to our brilliant defensive record that season and in that season Byun was amongst the best left backs in the league. Kisel was a key player that season as well. Three brilliant recruits who formed the spine of the team that season. Hayden Foxe also chipped in with some important displays. If he was a shit manager, players wouldn't want to play under him and thus he wouldn't have led us to 2 finals campaigns in 3 seasons at the club and won the double.

And all those questions you as me I bounce them back at you. Please show me an example of a player who has played under Lavicka lambast his management style. And why would a play like Kisel follow Lavicka often where he goes?

Maybe its time you stop posting on this thread because you embarrass yourself with your so call 'knowledge' of football even further.

Every second half has been worse than our first halves? Clearly haven't watched a Sydney game this season then. If our first halves were so much better, why did we have to have so many second half come backs.

And pretty sure if he was as shit a manager as you say, then im pretty sure no player would have volunteered to be in this video:

But this has gone WAAAAAAAY off track and lets get back to talking about the NSWPL.

lol....i said a vast departure from the first half,,,,meaning EITHER one was better or worse then the other......

and seriously what do you think the players are going to say FFS get real......and i have never said he wasn't a nice bloke....and there is a saying that nice blokes finish last for very good reasons........

sorry but you won't change my opinion....they play boring in consistent football and i won't waste another minute watching that shit,,,,,,,,Carle is was over rated.....Mcflynn is tripe, reddy is a huge gronk.... sorry.....

Really good game. Shit first 15 mins from us but recovered brilliantly to Olympic's goal and didn't look back for the rest of the match. Would've been a bigger score if not for some poor finishing from Glavas, but a great first home game.

Although the best part of the day was this

Which would probably happen in the next fortnight or so. How many goals is it that he has scored?

He's got 67 in 91 games, Arnie got 68 in 178

End of Round two, and it's fantastic to see APIA firing out of the blocks as per normal.. I tells ya. Nick Rizzo will finally come good for us, well, the moment he stops parading around thinking he's king shit because he was once contracted to Liverpool (despite never playing), but that doesn't matter, because he was at Liverpool n shit.

That and when he learns how to take a penalty, and did I mention parading around like he's king shit because he got a contract at Liverpool? :p

Big news - NSWPL 2013 to be association based clubs only.

That means curtains to my team APIA, as well as United, Olympic, Marconi, Bonyrigg and Demons.
