I'm unsure on our interest in James. On one hand he'd be good for a season or two, and I think he'd excell in the SPL. On the other hand, he's only a short term solution.

Conflicting reports coming out of Sunderland on this one. Bruce is saying we don't need another keeper as Gordon is only out for a few months and we have Fulop, Mignolet and Carson (former youth team keeper who's playing all our pre-season friendlies at the moment). On the other hand, the media is convinced we're still after the big man. I have to say that James on a one year deal would be a tremendous deal with Gordon's recent bad luck - I'd take him like a shot.

If Man City were desperate for Dzeko and Wolfsburg rejected an offer of 50-60m Man City would just come in with an even bigger offer.
VW would in no way be able to reject an offer of 60-70m. They'd be stupid and ignorant not to accept it.

Old news but has just been confirmed Quote:[size=6] Sunderland sign Angeleri[/size] Sunderland have boosted their defensive options by recruiting Marcos Angeleri from Argentinian side Estudiantes de La Plata. Manager Steve Bruce has swooped to sign the right-back for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal. The 27-year-old - who has three senior caps for Argentina - becomes the third South American in the Black Cats' ranks, with Paraguayans Paulo Da Silva and Cristian Riveros also hailing from the continent. The defender missed out on selection for Diego Maradona's World Cup squad for the finals in South Africa this summer due to injury but the player has impressed Bruce enough to secure a deal. Angeleri began his career at Primera Division side Estudiantes in 2002 and has amassed 175 appearances for the 2009 Copa Libertadores champions. Bruce said Angeleri will provide depth to his squad, as well as additional options on the field. He told the club's official website: "Marcos is a strong, powerful defender and will add depth to the squad. "He is also very keen to get forward from that position so that adds an extra dimension to the side.
