Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants former Arsenal defender William Gallas at White Hart Lane. So their solution to their other 2 injury prone centrebacks is to get a 33 year old injury prone ego maniac:lol:
http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Harry-Redknapp-has-admitted-he-wants-William-Gallas-at-Tottenham-article554123.html

Redknapp feels Tottenham could win the Premier League with three new signings - but the chances of landing all three are "quite slim". Fucking lol

Manchester City keeper Shay Given could be joining Arsenal after being told Joe Hart will be the club's number one. Given the choice, I'd take Given over Schwarzer anyday of the week

But Arsenal face competition from Celtic in the pursuit of Republic of Ireland international keeper Given, with Manchester City preferring to sell the 34-year-old to the Scottish club rather than a Premier League rival.

But current Gunners keeper Manuel Almunia will seek talks about his future if manager Arsene Wenger brings in another senior goalkeeper before the transfer window closes. I'd be willing to let him and Fabianski both go tbh. I can understand why Almunia would want to leave once he's not #1 anymore, and Fabianski can just go dig a hole for all I care.

Shay Given is set to walk out on Manchester City after finding out Joe Hart will keep his place in goal for the Europa League qualifier against FC Timisoara on Thursday night. Cardiff's 'Bellam' bedlam! Club shop runs out of 'Y's' and '9's' as Craig Bellamy signing grips City

By PHIL CADDEN Last updated at 11:29 AM on 19th August 2010

Cardiff 's shock capture of Craig Bellamy on loan from Manchester City has given them an immediate boost of nearly £500,000.
Within three hours the club shop sold 3,000 'Bellamy 39' replica shirts before they ran out of 'Ys' and '9s' - so fans bought shirts with 'Bellam 3'.

The club has been unable to cope with the demand for Bellmay replica shirts
Fans have snapped up tickets for his first game on Saturday, at home to Doncaster, which is expected to be a 23,000 sell-out, and there has been a run on season-ticket sales.
Cardiff chief executive Gethin Jenkins said the cash will go towards paying £175,000 owed to Motherwell for defender Paul Quinn.
Club shop supervisor Amy Barnes, overwhelmed by the interest, said: 'Craig's signing was a big shock for us all. His arrival has created a great buzz.'

Rafael Benitez's Inter Agree Deal For Liverpool Forward Dirk Kuyt - Report

Inter have agreed a deal to take Dirk Kuyt from Liverpool to Serie A, according to a report from Dutch daily De Telegraaf.

The report claims that the move was agreed earlier this week and could go be concluded today.

Kuyt was omitted from Liverpool's Europa League win over Trabzonspor at Anfield, with Reds boss Roy Hodgson claiming that the Dutchman was being rested.

However, that omission means that Kuyt is not cup tied for European competition and it seems that he is heading for a reunion with former Liverpool manaber Rafael Benitez at the San Siro.

Benitez is a known admirer of Kuyt who has made little secret of his admiration for the hard-working and versatile Netherlands international.

Would want at least 15mil. But I'd prefer if he stays, unless he is replaced with a big player.

Hammers backtrack on Yak

West Ham United have 'cooled' their interest in signing Everton's Nigerian striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

The Hammers have been tracking the African ace for much of the summer, having decided that their strike force is in need of strengthening.

As Yakubu is a proven Premier League goal-getter, the Upton Park outfit felt he was an ideal candidate to bolster their ranks.

They have, however, been frustrated in their efforts to take him to the capital, with Everton reluctant to do business.

The Toffees feel the terms on the table are unacceptable and have informed the Hammers that they will need to up their offer if they are to land Yakubu.
Better

West Ham are reluctant to increase their bid, though, and could now turn their attention elsewhere.

Co-owner David Sullivan believes the club would be better advised to bring in a potential star of the future, rather than a 27-year-old striker who has struggled with injuries in recent times.

"We have cooled on Yakubu," he said.

"When you have a good, hard look at him, we want younger and quicker and better."

Reports suggest Everton are holding out for somewhere close to £8million for former Middlesbrough and Portsmouth ace Yakubu.

Hangeland has no exit plans

Brede Hangeland has reiterated his commitment to Fulham, insisting that he is perfectly happy at the club.

The Norwegian centre-half has established quite a reputation since arriving at Craven Cottage in January 2008, leading to inevitable speculation regarding his future.

Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be among his many admirers, with potential big-money moves often touted.

Hangeland, though, refuses to read too much into the speculation and continues to remain fully focused on his duties at Fulham.

He is enjoying life with the capital club and insists he has no reason to leave while he is playing regularly and maintaining a high level of performance.

"Some people in football are too keen to move on all the time," Hangeland told The Sunday Times.

"When you come to a club and think, 'This is a nice place, good people, good fans, doing well', those should be reasons to stay."
Change

Fulham's recent success, including last season's run to the Europa League final, has also helped to convince Hangeland that the Cottagers can help him to fulfil his ambitions.

Highly-rated coach Roy Hodgson may have moved on to Liverpool this summer but, with Mark Hughes drafted in as his successor, the outlook still appears to be bright on the banks of the Thames.

"Apart from changing clubs, the biggest change you can experience is a new manager," added Hangeland.

"It's a new start for everyone, you have to be on your toes and take on board new ideas and I'm looking forward to the new season.

"Training is different. Under Roy Hodgson we did a lot on team shape and organisation whereas now we do more 4 v 4s, small-sided games - proper football sessions, some might say.

"It was important to get a big manager because we did so well under Hodgson and it's good the club showed it intends achieving more."

Mido makes Ajax move

Mido's spell with Middlesbrough has been brought to an end with the striker joining Ajax on a free transfer.

The well-travelled 27-year-old has moved to the Eredivisie side on a free transfer having been informed he was not part of Riverside manager Gordon Strachan's plans.

Egypt international Mido spent a two-year spell with the Amsterdam outfit earlier in his career.

Ajax boss Martin Jol believes that his latest addition will give his squad added depth.

He told the club's official website: "We needed an extra striker and we have limited resources which have to be considered."

Mido has had a nomadic existence after leaving Ajax in 2003, playing for Celta Vigo, Marseille, Roma, Tottenham, Wigan, Zamalek and West Ham.

Fulham and PSV agree Carlos Salcido deal

Fulham have agreed a deal to sign Dutch club PSV Eindhoven's Mexico international left-back Carlos Salcido.

PSV told BBC Sport that the 30-year-old Salcido, who has also been linked with Liverpool, has still to agree personal terms in a move reportedly worth £1.6m.

Liverpool have been holding talks with Fulham over the possibility of signing their Fulham left-back Paul Konchesky.

Fulham boss Mark Hughes said: "It's not a foregone conclusion Paul goes because we're trying to bring someone else in."

PSV would not specify the length of the contract that Salcido had been offered by Fulham.

Earlier this week the London club confirmed the signing of 23-year-old Algerian defender Rafik Halliche from Benfica for an undisclosed fee.

I'd say this pretty much confirms that Konchesky is leaving, and what a player to replace him. Was really impressed by him at the WC and loves to have a crack from distance.

Bayern Munich's Argentinian utility player Martin Demichelis turns a £10m move to Chelsea saying he wants to join Sevilla. Smart move. Chose first team football over bench warming.

very, but i'd rather play for sevilla anyway :p

this would be interesting if a move to sevilla were to go through, would probably pave the way for squilacci to arsenal, but it would also leave very little in the way of experienced, proven centre backs at bayern with only van buyten there
