I doubt most of the players they want will want to play for them.

Lucas is worth a little bit more than that isnt he? Based potential of course. We need to get a profit at least.
We need to keep a CM though. We've lost Sissoko already. Lucas and Alonso could potentially go. We desperately need to keep Mascherano and find adequate replacements for those who have left. We seriously need a young CM.
Lets keep Alonso, Masch, Gerrard. Throw away Lucas. Sign Javi Martinez. Forget about Gareth Barry.
We desperately need another striker + a right-winger/attacking mid/link-up-man + someone to replace Lucas. We need money too.
I'd like to see us sign a future talent aswell. We should take a look at that Jonjo kid. Arsenal have Ramsey, United have Macheda - We dont have any YOUNG stars.

Sami Hyypia will end his 10-year stay at Liverpool this summer after agreeing to join German side Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer when his contract expires. Quote:The 35-year-old Finnish international passed a medical on Monday and has signed a two-year contract after finding his first-team opportunities at Anfield limited by the presence of Jamie Carragher, Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger.
Rafael Benitez had offered the former captain the chance to remain as cover next season with a view to joining the club's coaching staff but the Finn is believed to want to prolong his playing career at the highest level for as long as possible.
But Benitez insists that, despite leaving, Hyypia will always be welcome back at Anfield in a behind-the-scenes role. "We had talked with Sami about his future and our idea was to offer him an extension and, afterwards, he would have the chance to become a coach with us," he said.
"He was pleased to receive the offer but he still has a lot of confidence in himself, he is fit and he wanted to think over all of the offers he received. We were trying to keep him and we wanted to, because he deserves the best.
"But he has decided to leave and, in the future, the door will always be open for him to come back at any time."
Benitez's predecessor, Gerard Houllier, signed Hyypia from Dutch outfit Willem II for just £2.5 million in 1999 and the Finn has been a mainstay of the Anfield side's defence since, winning two FA Cups, the UefaCup, two League Cups, two European Super Cups and the Champions League in his time on Merseyside.
He has arguably been one of the club's greatest signings, captaining the side for two years under Houllier and racking up 463 appearances for Liverpool, including every minute of 57 consecutive European outings between 2001 and 2006. Telegraph.co.uk article

However, Barton may already have played his last game for the club after being suspended without pay for two weeks following a post-match bust-up with boss Alan Shearer following the player's red card at Liverpool (The Times).

60m for Ribery. Thats almost double the UK record. Dunno about that. Thats probably all you'd get for Ronaldo now anyway so they would be losing out. Manc need a new established CM if anything. Xavi. 'Magine that.

Really cant see Ronaldo going now, especialy with Fergie as coach and I would much rather him than Ribery but they would be an awesome duo together. Unless Fergie does have to replace Ronaldo i dont reckon he will sign a big name winger more likely promising young talent

I dont reckon your CMs are that great. Carrick, Scholes, Giggs?, Anderson, Fletcher, Possebon, Hargreaves. Deep but the only one I have no doubts about is Carrick. I dont rate him that highly either. Probs not even top 20 CM's in the world. Giggs and Scholes are old. Anderson and Possebon are still young. Fletcher is Scottish. Hargreaves is made of glass.

Are you kidding? On paper our midfield may not look like Barca's but on the field they easily match them the midfield is so balanced and Carrick is one of the best CM's in the world hands down. I will agree that it isnt Chelsea's team on paper but compare it with Liverpool. Manchester United midfield list: Carrick, Scholes, Hargreaves, Fletcher, Park, Giggs, Ronaldo, Anderson, Possebon, Nani Liverpool midfield list: Gerrard, Lucas, Alonso, Riera, Benayoun, Masch, El Zhar, Plessis. I would say that is either pretty much a stale mate or in favour of us. You say it barely competes with Arsenal, a midfield that have been completely outclassed and taught a footballing lesson by us. Our midfield is really well balanced and gets the job done incredibly I can agree on paper it doesnt amount to that much but on the field I am capable we can beat Barca with our midfield.

Gerrard, Alonso, Riera, Masch and even Benayoun(to an extent) look good, but the players backing them up(in case on injury) arnt anywhere near the quality you would expect to slip in and do a similar job. ManUtds is much more balanced out. Carrick, Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes starting is nothing to scoff at. If one drops out Anderson, Hargreaves, Fletcher(dont care how much hate is on him, he is a seriously underated player), Park and Nani can come in and keep the level of quality at a high level.

Park and Fletcher are massively underated players, Fletcher isnt a great player but he really does the job well and Park has had some great showings this season, both offer variety and are different to the rest of our midfielders

Kuyt is surprisingly(finally) becoming a good winger(natural striker). Babel doesnt do enough(nowhere near enough) but does have potential to be a top tier player. Dossena...meh. Certainly dont rate him, but wont say he is shit either. And doesnt he play more as a FB anyway(just gets forward on the overlap, and odd wander)?

Unite dfans have serious delusions of adequacies about their midfield. So you kept a sub-standard Arsenal midfield quiet. Almost every time you've come up against a quality midfield this season, you've struggled or lost. Zenit 1-2, Liverpool 1-2, Chelsea 1-1, Everton 1-1, Arsenal 1-2, Liverpool 1-4, Everton 0-0. Quote:Kuyt is surprisingly(finally) becoming a good winger(natural striker). What are you talking about? He used to play as a winger when he started at Feyenoord. Quote:Dossena...meh. Certainly dont rate him, but wont say he is shit either. And you could say the same thing about Fletcher, Park, Possebon and Hargreaves.
