Very happy with the news of Pato possibly arrining. Very good player and for a young lad he is even more exciting.
Glen Johnson = Meh. Back-up IMO.

Rafa Benitez has rubbished reports in the Spanish media that an agreement has been reached with Real Madrid for the transfer of Xabi Alonso.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer but the Reds boss has poured cold water on suggestions the Spain international is set to leave.

The Liverpool manager said: "The situation is clear, we do not want to sell our best players and that includes Xabi.

"He had a very good season for us and can be an important player in the future. There is no agreement with Real and we want him to be part of our plans going forward.

"Xabi himself told our club magazine only two weeks ago that he was looking forward to his sixth season as a Liverpool player. Why should he want to leave now?"

Benitez added: "Xabi's agent came to see me recently to talk about the future. It was a surprise for me and I pointed out to him there were three years left on Xabi's contract.

"I asked him if the player was happy in Liverpool and he said yes. It was a short meeting."

Owen wouldn't ever forgiven at Anfield if he went to Everton. On the other hand though, his dad did play for them and they were his boyhood club.

Genoa eye Juninho, Crespo due to sign
Reuters - June 3, 2009, 8:05 pm

MILAN, June 3 (Reuters) - Genoa are interested in former Lyon midfielder Juninho and will shortly wrap up a deal for Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo, the Serie A side said on their website (http://www.genoacfc.it) on Wednesday.

Crespo, who had been linked with Fiorentina, will join Atalanta striker Sergio Floccari in having a medical in the coming days while the ambitious club said they were continuing to track Inter winger Ricardo Quaresma.

Genoa, fifth this term and in the Europa League next season, are selling striker Diego Milito and midfielder Thiago Motta to champions Inter while Brazilian Juninho is a free agent having won seven French league titles with Lyon. Chelsea's much maligned bid for Kaka is finally in. A whopping £73.5million.
I can only hope he turns out like Chelsea's last signing from Milan for that price.

Also, Bruce has been confirmed at Sunderland and Celtic face competition from Wigan for Martinez.

I followed Genoa a bit last season because Palladino plays for them and he is one of my favourite but seriously if they sign Crespo their forward stocks would like something like Palladino, Floccari, Crespo, Aquafresca, Di Vaio, Jankovic, all these names are amongst the best forwards in Italy and Genoa's attacking style of football is pretty entertaining and effective if they signed Crespo, Juninho and Quaresma I think they would be a massive chance to crack the top four

Id rather say they are in with a chance to qualify for the ECL. Hope so too. I have a soft spot for Genoa.

Yeah well I meant an ECL spot, I have a soft spot for them too as well as Juve and tbh Juve's squad isnt that much better than Genoa's, Juve have some standouts like Buffon, Cheillini, ADP, Camoranesi etc but Genoa is a very well balanced squad

Btw Simone Perotta looks to be on the road out of Roma and is tossing up signing a new contract

I think that's basically the reason that Chelsea and Madrid are throwing around some of the names taht they are. So that they do all City's shopping for them, spend all their money now and leave them with 'nothing' so that they can't hijack the players they really want.

Johnson would need to get rid of his braids if he signed for us. He reminds me of that **** Pennant. Pompey would also have to significantly lower the asking price. I like Arbeloa more anyway. If Man City dont want Zabaleta any more ill take him.

Tuncay is a gun. Im not sure how he would fit in but he is an amazing player. He'd provide good depth but he isnt good enough to be our second striker.

Im wishing along these David Silva rumours.

Im wishing along these David Silva rumours.

TBH I cant see David Silva in the Premier League...If hes going to leave he'll most likely go to Real Madrid or Juve...Although he would fit in well with Pool.

What about Lazio/Palermo/Genoa?

Maybe Genoa but Lazio and Palermo are a bit off IMO and Genoa are being raided...They are making some good signings however...Acquafresca, Crespo, Quaresma, Floccari etc
