All goal.com does is bring the 1000's of transfer rumours over all the football site onto 1 site. So really they do a really good job and make life a lot easier instead of making people trawl the net they bring stories in from all the big news sources.

I don't like reading transfer rumours though, because usally your club is always linked to this awesome player and it never happens. Or another club is interested in one of your players, and you worry.

 But that adds to the beauty of it. The tension of you don't know what's going to happen or you wonder why your manager is linked to a certain player or why he refuses to buy a certain player. Also if all that was posted here was confirmed transfers it would be pretty dry until the last week of January. Rumours are what make the Transfer Windows as good as they are

The thing is Goal isn't posting their own rumours they are just reporting on 100's of other news sources. That's what I mean when it make's it easier to look through transfer stories because instead of going to a bunch of sites Goal has all those stories in the one place. Goal isn't the one that's unreliable it's the sources they get it from that are.

Quote: Manchester City Launch Bid For Estudiantes' Juan Sebastian Veron The Argentinian midfield wizard looks to have garnered the Citizens' interest despite being 34 years old.
Manchester City have offered Estudiantes de La Plata £7 million (50 million pesos) for the services of Argentine midfield wizard, Juan Sebastian Veron, according to Argentina sports daily Hoy de La Plata. The bid reportedly comes at the behest of Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, who played with Veron at both Sampdoria and Lazio, where the two won an Italian league title, an Italian cup, and the European Supercup. Mancini later served as Veron's coach at Inter, where they won two Italian cups, two Italian Supercups, and one Serie A title together. Although the initial reactions to the offer appear to be negative, they are not definitive and the amount offered would help the Argentine club to balance their books as they aim to solve their financial problems. Veron would receive a similar wage to the one he currently earns with Estudiantes. The 34-year-old Veron has had a phenomenal year at Estudiantes, recently chosen as the best player in America and earning a spot in Diego Maradona's Argentina national team. On the global stage, Veron was far and away Estudiantes' best player at the Club World Cup, causing Barcelona a number of problems with his passing in the final. Manchester City have been big players in the transfer market in the past two years, shelling out huge amounts for stars such as Robinho, Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz, Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Joleon Lescott. Also on the reported shopping list are Cristian Ansaldi and Patrick Vieira. http://goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2010/01/05/1726983/manchester-city-launch-bid-for-estudiantes-juan-sebastian Would be a very interesting transfer. IMO he probably couldn't cut it in the EPL anymore.

If he went to EPL it would be one of the worst moves in history. He couldn't cut it in the EPL before, what makes them think he can now when he is 34?

Quote:Maxi Rodriguez Poised For Liverpool After Javier Mascherano Talk
Argentine star set to link up with international skipper at Anfield
Maxi Rodriguez is on the verge of joining Liverpool from Atletico Madrid, after consulting his international captain Javier Mascherano, Goal.com UK understands.
The 29-year-old has been strongly linked with a switch to Anfield, and a source close to the club told Goal.com UK today that the move was "a certainty", following a crucial conversation between the midfielder and Mascherano.
http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010/01/05/1726754/maxi-rodriguez-poised-for-liverpool-after-javier-mascheranoPartly for the story, partly to prove my point about Goal NOT just pulling stories from elsewhere :P

Out of nowhere...
Kenwyne Jones to leave for around 12 mill. Birmingham have bid around 10. Waiting to see if Spurs are still interested but Jones defo wants to leave.
Sunderland lining up Kevin Kuranyi to take his place. Kuranyi will become highest paid Sunderland player ever if he signs.
Also appear to be lining up a right back by the name of Guy Demel, an Arsenal reject who's done well in Germany, for 4.5 mill. I've never heard of him before - God bless Wikipedia.

Of course. God, Sunderland are really pulling some good deals this season.
Looks like Yeung is pumping some serious cash. 10 mil for Babel and 10 for Jones. If they both come through.

Yeung is putting up 40 million they reckon.
We've still got money to spend as well. Looks like Figuaroa, Demel at the back, possibly Dawson as well, with perhaps Johnson into midfield, and Kuranyi (or another) upfront. I can't imagine we'll let Jones go without having a replacement lined-up, we're already lacking cover up front.

Shaktar Donesk have signed Brazilian starlet Douglas in a move that greatly pisses off this poster for the fact that the fee commanded was apparently 5 million pounds when apparently again Manchester United were told to pay 20 million pounds last season. While we are on Sunderland apparently they are intersted in signing want a way Portsmouth star Younes Kaboul Argentinian star Mauro Zarate is apparently being targeted by Arsenal according to his agent Unfortunately for Benjamin Schalke striker Kevin Kuranyi has said he is commited to Schalke It is alledged that Arsenal midfielder Fran Merida has rejected new contract talks and signed with Atletico Madrid whom he will reportedly join in the summer
