Wrath doesn't exactly fit the alliteration does it?

Hopefully they don't use any of these just for the sake of alliteration . Still haven't seen anything I like as much as West Sydney Athletic. If they stick with Rovers I'd be happy though.

How about orange & gun-metal grey w/white "G" on the front? lol

I reckon "Wallaroos" is a brilliant name :) It is a real Aussie animal, which gets no recognition. You have the Wallabies, Kanagroos and the Socceroos, but Wallaroo is the missing link; why not include their close cousin too? The West Sydney Wallaroos!!

IMO it could work only if it's not actually featured in the club name (ie. how Adelaide Utd are nicknamed the 'Reds' without it being in their name). You could have a cute-looking Wallaroo head/upper torso on the crest though;)

I think the Wallaroos are the women's national rugby team or something***, just a deep part of my memory banks there could be wrong, think its a silly name to be honest. How about no nickname, just the West Sydney FC.

To the gronk that said menai or whatever had large number of registred players hence why it was good decision to ask people from there about the name; Australia would have bigger attendences at football than Germany if you go by that logic with more 450,000 registered players. Not all the players like going to games - current attendences are proof of that.
And i don't get why you people post random jerseys as if you will have any say in the matter, but hey, I'll post one as well.

Since Gold Coast United is heading down the same dark tunnel New Zealand Knights went down, the A-League will have one less "United" team! Since Adelaide United FC is more commonly referred to as the "Reds" or "Adelaide" and Newcastle United Jets is more commonly referred to as "Newcastle" or "the Jets", why not go with Western Sydney United FC?

The AFL Giants went with "Greater Western Sydney", but that's just their geographical catchment area, however what an A-League team in Western Sydney want to do is UNITE all of Western Sydney (yes, that includes Old Soccer + New Football fans).

Won't this also please the crowd which don't want a cute furry animal or one of those Americanised nicknames like the Earthquakes, Victory, Galaxy, etc etc etc...

Western Sydney United FC - A team where all Western Sydney football fans can unite!

1. No to ANZ - it's too big
2. No to "United" - who knows why
3. No to "Rangers" - might spark Celtic Vs Rangers hatred
4. No to "Wallaroos" - too cute and furry
5. No to "Wolves" - It's South Coast's nickname
6. No to "Steelers" - It's Illawarra's old name
7. No to whatever else you guys don't like.

Why don't you just go for Western Sydney Saints then?

Rugby League went with Brisbane "Bombers", why can't the A-League go with a "Saints" team? Oh wait, that will spark up a religious war in the west, yeah?

There's just no pleasing you lot....but you can never please everyone!

You wanna unite the west? Go with West Sydney Stallions ;) You'll probably piss off some Olympic fans, but they'll never change regardless so not much lost there...

There's enough names that can be chosen from that don't require 'stealing' it from another team. Wanderers, Athletic, could even go back to Rovers, Sporting Club, etc.

I think the Brisbane Bombers is a stupid name because there already exists a big "Bombers" club in Australia.

So to summarise your posts on this, Ian Rowden and the Sydney Rovers group are liars, the people in "outlying" areas including Penrith, Cabramatta, Ku-ring-gai and Menai who told them that they wanted to be part of the club's support aren't worth listening to, we would have larger attendances than in Germany if registered players was a determining factor (which defies logic) and I'm a dick.

Thanks for your input.

tasmania and canberra bids are united. tasmania united is a good way to unite all of tasmania like they are trying to and canberra already have a w-league team. and if somehow gcu survive that makes 4 teams already, + west sydney and that is 5.

They didn't go to supporter group that was already forming and that was trying to reach out to them, but instead gave us stupid answers and didn't put forward proof of any of their "research". Yes they are liars, because they promised a lot and delivered nothing. They managed to dissapoint many without a single explanation. Fuck them and fuck their fake research.
When we sent them poll results on the matter and asked them for a feedback, they went to Ku-ring-gai and asked some gronks what they think because our results didn't match their views?

why should Ku-ring-gai and Menai determine or even have any say in the name or anything about a Western Sydney side?
Isnt a WS side a club for the western sydney people. Ku-ring-gai and Menai arnt this.
I got no issues if they want to support a WS team, as long as those living in western sydney get a say.
its pretty much giving someone from eastern suburbs, newcastle or central coast a say in the western sydney side.
it makes no sense

My understanding from their press release was that the Rovers consortium wanted a team for the whole of Sydney that was not Sydney FC but was based in the west. As such they consulted widely in areas of the west and nearby municipalities including as they said Ku-ring-gai and Menai. At the time I wondered whether that is where a couple of them lived. If I had the cash to mount a bid that would not be the way I would do it but unfortunately I can only provide the amount of cash on the right hand side of the decimal point.
