When are we expecting something concrete re. player announcements and, more importantly, pre-season training? And is Poppa back in the country? Everyone is just guessing when this will happen but no time hhas really been given thats offical. My guess is on Tuesday when the A-League draw comes out. I think that would be a good time to do it.

I doubt Mile would come back. He was on big dollars at Perth and is on even bigger dollars in Asia. I doubt WS could afford him. It's a shame WS missed out on several promising GC lads. Wouldn't surprise me if they sign Tyson as a back up keeper.

Now, if they got all the players you have added that would be some first year team! Throw in the best local young guys to learn from these old wise heads and this would be very impressive.

One would have thought that the identity would be released, as well as home stadium before the A-league draw. perhaps it will coincide on tuesday? or early on monday?

must have a team name by the release of the draw. the poll closed over a month ago, why is it taking so long?

Maybe a big announcement on Tuesday? Maybe they have already printed 'West Sydney Wanderers' on the draw. Has to be announced in the next 2 days, surely.

FFA is stuck between a rock and a hard place. They won't have any name registered for another few months. So if they take a punt on a name there is a risk they won't keep it.Quite possibly they are negotiating with potential opponents to registration.

Uh... they haven't even registed the name West Sydney Wanderers... It might be Western Sydney Wanderers, but I'm fairly sure it can't be called "West Sydney Wanderers".

I guarantee it isn't West Sydney Wanderers. 100%.
All four trade mark applications have been accepted for advertisement.
As I suggested in a previous discussion, it appears the original complaint was the dodgy filing as a series mark. Now they've reduced it to four options it's all good...
They've discarded the options for West Sydney and gone with Western Sydney on all of them.
It will be either WESTERN SYDNEY WANDERERS, WESTERN SYDNEY WOLVES, WESTERN SYDNEY STRIKERS or WESTERN SYDNEY ATHLETIC.
No point in FFA waiting until the marks are registered before deciding which to go with, that it at least 3 1/2 months away.

That is one impressive looking first-year side. Maybe apart from Bridge, but I have a feeling he might play well at WS, hes always had the potential, just never lived up to it.

As a fan of another club that is against gimmicky shyte names like Fury Pride and soul etc, I'd be happy with the league welcoming in Western Sydney Wanderers FC. I wonder if they'll attempt to take ownership of the intended slight from SFC of the Unicorns. If we can revel in the pissants, why cant they poke fun at Unicorns too?

Domain names are easy - its the trade marks that are the clue. They have only got four applications in place. All are for variations of WESTERN SYDNEY (WOLVES, ATHLETIC, WANDERERS, STRIKERS).

Well not to be a buzz kill but word has it that there will be 3 games played at CUA Penrith Stadium. I'm not sure whether this is true or not but if so the Wanderers name would make sense and perhaps FFA are looking to build interest across the region rather than doing the right thing and having the one home ground.

Wouldn't be surprised to see games at Penrith, Parramatta, the Olympic stadium and probably a 'regional' game in Wollongong. The Wanderers name can be used to justify the moving around, or the moving around can be used as a reason for Wanderers. No doubt 'Wanderers' winning the supporters vote could also be used as justification for the decision to move the team around as well. So long as it works - who cares?

What happened to Shitneysider's love of just FC? Back in the days when the Sydney FC name was announced, it was all about football kulcha and the FC being the peoples choice and Shitneysiders laughing at everyone else. Until they got the lowest crowds per capita. So now it's most likely Wanderers
In a resort somewhere
