He obviously got through a heap of defensive work but he just looks like a target man, didn't look dangerous at all in the box, I know he didn't get great service but he looks like more of a handful than a great player.

Kresinger reminds me of a poor mans Huyegems.
It's probably just the bald head.

I thought most of the guys on the field worked hard the whole game. Im shocked bridge got a start, especially in that position, and really he didnt play very well. Mooy was superb as i expected, the kids got great vision and on the ball skill for his age. The yellow he picked up was total bullshit. I think Dino will come good, he worked hard, but i think all of the imports will need to harden up a bit. Hersi was constantly being hussled off the ball, and the same with dino, polenz and poljak.
However although at times the performace was disjointed there is real potential in the team. They havent had much time to play together as a unit, or even train as a unit, so id expect much more cohesion by the 5th or 6th round. Plus were undefeated in the a-league!
Lastly, who the fuck was that ref? I really hope the standard is going to the higher than that for the rest of the season. Terrible calls, extremely soft fouls as well.

Obviously disappointed about the result. The 2nd half performance was much better though. We are looking quite organised but enough is enough, we have nothing up front. In professional football, you need pace, not to run faster than your opponent but to at least keep up.
Working hard is not a get out of jail card, working hard is expected by every player. I do admire the work Kresinger goes through but it's not enough, he needs to be a threat. It does worry me that Bridge gets paid, it really does.
I don't know what the contract situations are with us, I know there are a lot of one year contracts? But if Bridge looks like being there next year, I feel in the fan forums, we should really put the pressure on the club to get rid of him.
I understand that the club was rushed and had to put as squad together somehow and Bridge is an experienced player but we have to be honest, he is one of, if not the worst player in the league. And don't give me 'oh he has scored goals before'. Fucking Ben Sigmund and Terry McFlynn have scored goals too.
Obviously the fans can't have that much of an impact but we saw what happened to McFlynn after his sub last week, moved to the bench and they win, that is his starting days gone.
Proud of the team and had a great night out, it was a great sight seeing the stadium packed but in terms of a team looking like they can win games, we don't have that with our striking options.

Quote:And Craig Foster said: (drumroll, please):
There is another compelling reason (to go to the next derby at Allianz Stadium). The Wanderers fans are coming. Just three matches young, they are already proving one of the most vocal in the entire league and have thrown down the gauntlet to the Cove of Sydney FC.
How so?? Well, the true test of a fan is not when the team is winning, but when they're behind and the best can lift a team, drive their players on, put doubt in the minds of opponents and create a home ground none look forward to visit.
And the Wanderers have already excelled in this department. Drums. Voice. Chants. Exhortations. They made an historic night for football, a joy to witness live. It won't be long, given the proud history of the region dating from the first game in this country, when Parramatta stadium will not be a theatre of dreams, but of nightmares. Top work Wanderers fans

Either of these 2 would make you guys very hard to break down as well as having that final impetus going forward. Porta will not happen though, too much money in the Middle east to come here. And Harry has to stay with his wife's mum or dad or whoever is sick.

Problem is, Harry will be even more unfit compared to last season. Will have to be used as an impact sub for half the season (better than nothing I guess)

I seriously wouldnt want Kewell even though our strike force is the worst in the league, not as a marque signing anyways.

You guys are struggling for options at the moment, and on a tight budget. How about these names; Nathan Burns Brendon Santalab Could even try to get Serge van Dijk who isn't happy at Adelaide... Could do a lot worse!

Could even try to get Serge van Dijk who isn't happy at Adelaide... Could do a lot worse! I highly doubt any of those are even a chance of being signed by us but if there was a chance to sign them especially Burns and we knocked it back Poppavic would have to be the dumbest manager in the A-League.

Can't say much for whats on the bench, but obviously everyones' given this Appiah chap a good wrap. Thought my $0.02 was worth something, but, no. :d

Anyone have an idea in member numbers? I saw one foundation member cap at the game roughly 6940, would that be indicative or not? For the records I sit in the 3950 region and I got my membership the day before seasons start

6940? That means...5940...hmm, surely the club would be advertising 6000 members if that was the case.

I think he'd be great, but $$ and unity gone. I also think he would completely unbalance your play, as lets be honest Mooy/Ono/Poljak = pretty damn fantastic, but if Kewell was up alongside but higher up almost all the play would be going through him, which is somewhat easy to defend against. As for the memberships, I think if it's anything over 4200 that is absolutely fantastic, considering how bad the press was pre-season about the crowd trouble and that we got OVER 9000.

Reasons unknown but there seems to be murmurs that they withheld the first 1000. As me along with other members registered as members the moment they were released and there was no way in hell they sold that memberships in that given time. If its the truth, its pretty disappointing
