Wanderers budgeted for $300k income last season on merchandise but took in $1.8m. It will be interesting to see what happens this season. This season they had a budget for membership marketing and didn't have to spend it. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sport/football/wanderers-predict-300000-revenue-in-merchandise-sales-but-end-up-with-18-million/story-fni2fpy9-1226732424241

I think they will better that this season. last season it was a shit fight to get any jersey. this season jerseys were out a while ago, and they got heaps of other merch. a lot of people were wearing western Sydney jackets last night, and really didn't have many like these last season.

Some of the members may already have read this, but I'll post it up here. This is why my love of this club will never cease. From the top down, it's all about togetherness, the family, and what we strive for as fans and as a club. Quote:Letter from the Chairman
As we embark upon our second season I firstly want to thank you, the members, for your overwhelming support for our club.
In just over 12 months we have gone from a concept, a hope, a vision created around the seven forums we held across Western Sydney and have evolved into the Club you so proudly belong to today. Much of this evolution has come down to one simple message – that we exist to enrich the lives of our fans and members – the people that make up the wonderful region that is Western Sydney.
We push forward with a steely determination to achieve great things for all of Western Sydney. While there will always be speed bumps along the way our ultimate mission to be a “World Class Football Club – the pride of Western Sydney” - remains firmly our focus.
This season we have seen an incredible 15,800 fans sign up to become season ticket members and many more come on board each day as Supporters and Out of Towner members.
With this increased demand comes challenges. This year’s membership drive came with a vision to not only improve our offering for our 7,003 foundation members but to make an affordable, attractive and compelling offer to fans new and old.
It is fair to say our expectations were exceeded in the response we received from the many Wanderers fans who have become a part of our family this season.
To keep costs down we have had to change our delivery options for the member packs, changing the posting of many member packs to a pick-up method.
While we have had to make this change, we do so with the knowledge that any costs we save are costs that are not passed onto you in our member pricing. Our commitment is to you and the future of the club and we will always explain why we do things when we do them.
Thank you for making the decision to continue the journey with us. Now it is time to celebrate the Wanderers by getting to the match. We’re looking to improve the member experience every match day, including transforming Pirtek Stadium into a bigger and better Wanderland. We’re bringing something for everybody, from our Community precinct at the south end with jumping castles and games for kids, to the rousing and passionate support from the RBB in the north. The moment you wake up on match day we want Red and Black to be the only thing on your mind.
As Wanderers we strive for results on and off the field and our commitment is to always make you proud, stand up for you and ensure we are always competitive.
I hope you will Join Us At Wanderland for our first home match of the season on Sunday at 5.00pm dressed in our famous Red and Black. Your support of our club is invaluable and you are indeed our twelfth man.
Lyall Gorman Executive Chairman NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers FC

Ray Gatt on SST saying the club will be sold to a consortium of Chinese businessmen and Australian business men with the Chinese holding majority share. Apparently there is no urgency to sell the club but this is in advanced negotiations and talks were held today.

Whats the vibe around the ACL with wanderers fans? Before our first campaign it was huge we had good crowds and etihad was rocking but it soon died off however this year it is building up well again probly due to the fact we have had a bit of time away from asia. Would love to see good crowds in australia at ACL games again.

Everyone is excited. Most WSW fans wanted to get the Premiership last year because it guaranteed the ACL.

I can't for mid-week continental football. Be good to not have to wake up at 5am on a Wednesday or Thursday morning to watch my team in the Champions League for once

Just wondering.. or 'wandering'... do we know how many Wanderers fans may be travelling/occupying the 'Away Bay' at nib stadium (Perth Oval) come Wanderers visit to Glory, Saturday, 22nd February? Anything arranged yet, too early? Or will be it just a small, modest contingent of dedicated/locally-based fans, typical of most Eastern States travelling support?
You guys are known for your fantastic travelling support within NSW and even south to Victory. IIRC You brought a reasonable contingent up Roar way too, and too perhaps Adelaide way?
So again, what could we expect to see in Perth? The usual few dozen in the Away Bay, 50, 100... more? :-k

I'm told we won't have more than 100 in Perth. Was hoping to make the trip myself, but alas, who has 850 to spare?

What do you guys make of allessi and fofanah?
Allessi missed 3 tackles but also made five. Foffanah had an incredible number of succesful take ons, nkind of tom rogic like at times but needed to do a little more defensively. Overall I thought they were both average, possibly slightly belowby a league standards. But being average at the age of 16 makes me wonder how good they could get :-k

Fofanah has bucket loads of talent, hopefully his vision catches up to his talent soon. Definitely both good prospects though

Allesi is showing promise. He is only 16 remember! Foffanah I feel wasn't played in his best position. You could tell he is more of an attacking player but our entire midfield was lacking a defensive minded enforcer like La Rocca and/or Poljak so Foffanah didn't look the best. But Mooy didn't either so...
Re: Perth. Will probably be a handful or so of random people going. Adelaide trip was a "tour of duty" so to speak hence the big numbers. I'm pretty sure one day there'll be an RBB tour to Perth.

Looks comfortable on the ball and has lovely technique. He lacks, by virtue of his youth, the physical element of his game. Hence, why he was hustled off the ball so easily. Will definitely improve as his body grows.

They were both very impressive for 16 year olds, I thought, neither looked out of place. Big futures.

Looking back through our games, can't help but notice how poor Bridge has been. Anonymous at the best of times, and by no means creative in his build up.

Yet, he still scores. Try not to look at the negatives, all the time. He scores... regularly. Especially if you put him up next to Hersi. Goal tally leans in favour of Bridge. He may not be creative but his positioning is not bad at all

Bridge is weird like that. He'll have a poor game but seems to be able to pop up in the right position to score.

-PB Lederer consortium is reported to be driving a hard bargain, knowing that the FFA will want to get rid of the club ASAP. The length of the license was said to be the biggest issue to be overcome.

^^ yeah a lot of the owners have argued over the license periods for a while, especially in that owners group meeting thingy they do every now and then.
