Bridge is now a free agent after successfully terminating his contract with Thai club Chiangrai United last week due to ongoing contractual issues.

Two of Bridge's former clubs Newcastle Jets and the Western Sydney had expressed interest in re-signing the 31-year-old.

But equally important has been his big-match experience in Asia. As captain of the Sydney Wanderers, he turned out at the highest possible level — in the Asian Champions League. Though he said that he was lucky to have played for managers who shared his idea of football throughout, the considerably physical nature of play in Australia would surely have helped him.

Preparing like athletes

“In A-League, footballers prepare like athletes,” he recalled. “Teams can all run non-stop for 90 minutes. I enjoyed playing there.”

But beyond footballing styles and managers, being closer to his family in Spain was one of the reasons he chose BFC.

“I have a little girl (four months) and Australia is so far from Spain,” Delgado said. “It’s difficult because being so far is one of worst things for me now. So when the BFC option came, it was an interesting one and now I feel very happy.”

Is Lauchy Scott likely to get any minutes with you guys this upcoming season?

Thought he’s looked really promising in the past; shame to see him not playing.

As long as we don't go out and get another striker ( which I'd say there's no need to do so ) I think next season he'll get more of a chance especially considering Santalab looks like he'll be in his last season and considering he's getting old I'm sure Scott will get a few minutes but I don't think he'll get a great deal of game time if Riera and Santalab stay fit all season.

Anyone see the rumours that this blokes father is Australian and so he's going for Australian citizenship. I wonder if anyone from the socceroos had an eye on him. Solidly playing in 2. Bundesliga. (Not saying he's good enough) but if they can sound out karacic who else have they had an eye on.

I read that they hope his Australian citizenship will be through by the end of this year.

It’s helped with securing the new stadium which will lead to more member. The temporary relocation hasn’t helped though.

Yeah I'd say the relocation has not only hurt the Wanderers but the whole A-League. Their home crowds were great for the game ... hopefully when the new stadium is done that aspect of the club will return with all the colour and fanfare.

All the regular season games are at Souless (Spotless) and Stadium Australia.
The only hope for a decent atmosphere, other than this Saturday, is that we make the finals with a home game which could be scheduled at the new Western Sydney Stadium.

Wanderers backroom staff were moving gear into the $15m training venue this week.  3 pitches the same size as Bankwest are finished the other 6 will be ready next January.

Of the academy players Lederer said "there are no registration fees charged to those players. In this area, there are people who can afford it, but there are lots who can’t,” ... “It would be a travesty if young talented kids couldn’t play because they can’t afford to."

GWS ARE 3rd,  they only average 11,535 WSW should be looking to overtake them again this season at the new stadium
