for about a day.

Zombies hear or see things they go to it, it could be food. If you plant say a 50 metre by say 100 metres wide feild of Land mines; you could possibly last out a day but the noise associated with them going off once a zombie triggers one you'll have thousands heading your way within seconds.

also one zombie can possibly trigger 2 or 3 before being immobilized a Zombie needs only one arm to continue dragging its self toward food.

AWTA. Not to mention the immense noise in the event that a hoard of zombies staggers into your minefield.

There would be far more practical ways of immobilising them. Something like a 15x100m field of chlorine and a 15x100m field of brake fluid. The two mixed together causes a rapid incindiary reaction which would render a zombie immobile.

The alternative is to surround your hide-out with treadmills...

Inspired by this thread I downloaded World War Z audio book. Fantastic production - hilarious sequence with Henry Rollins. Not funny in itself - but so appropriate to Henry, he doesn't have to act at all.

I never used to bring snackage like that to school. You'd have a whole box of something and then maybe get 2.

So i'm now watching season 2 of the Walking Dead and I just wanted to ask the question, did anyone find the Zombie that walked into the Campervan to be just a little to cluey?

Also with all the noise it made and her screaming, why didn't the Herd hear the attack and return?

On the first issue - he was a bit smarter than the average zombie, maybe there was some residual memory buried deep down as a result of him selling RV's for the last 10 years before the plague began? Cut 'em some slack. ;)

As for the screaming - if the herd is walking away and the majority of the scream was muffled by (a) the toilet walls/zombie, and (b) the walls of the RV itself - it's believable that the walkers wouldn't have heard.

I'm one episode away from the end of series 2 and continue to be pleasantly surprised that they have continued to come up with twists. Once they reached the farm it had the potential to become very repetitive ("lets go into town and pick up some supplies... Oh no, a walker!", etc.), but they've done really well.

Interested to see where they go from here on...

Have a serious temptation to write an Aussie take on World War Z/Walking Dead, set in Melbourne... Bogans with shotties on utes, Collingwood fans being mistaken for zombies, and just the one laid back English dude out in the eastern suburbs surviving on his sarcasm and ability to hide when the going gets tough...

I'm actually working on a Zombie script. I just don't know what to do with it once it's finished. Classic Zombies with the slow movement and hunger for flesh.

Standard heroes and apocolyptic world with an appropriate ending to it all.

Point of interest regarding zombie movies, etc.

I just noticed that Brad Pitt has completed filming the big screen adaptation of "World War Z". Script supposed to be excellent (although very different to the book). The book is brilliant, so really looking forward to the film.

I though filming had been stalled for 6 months? yeah the script is of a survivor living through the epidemic rather than of a oral history transcribing the events. Or at least that's what a few of my geek sites have been talking the script up as.
