The only first I played was a 70th minute sub, i had my Titanic winger come on in case it was close.

To be fair, you'd probably have won if I weren't counter attacking.

Elsewhere FC Avnell dropped from top spot, with a loss to Afroman FC, while Marconi bounced back from dissapointing results to notch up their 2nd win. Round 5 - GROUP A Broadmeadow Olympic v Stoopid Llamas FC Avnell v High Valiant FC Newcastle Revival v Afroman FC Wacked Jack v Fairfield City S.C High Valiant need to win this weekend, if they're to have any hope of defending their crown. With only 2 points seperating the top 4, it's anyones guess as to who will make the top 2, with results this weekend crucial to the final ladder. Afroman will need to continue on their winning ways if they hope to make it, a loss to Newcastle will effectively end their hopes. At the other end of the table, it'll be first points for one of Wacked and Fairfield.
Round 5 - GROUP B Stoopid Llamas v Broadmeadow Olympic Liverpool Victory FC v Freaks FC Marconi v Celtic Raiders Melbournian v Beresfield United It's coming down to the pointy end of the season, with only 3 rounds remaining before the finals. Freaks can all but seal their spot in the finals if they win this weekend, while their opponents Liverpool, as well as Raiders and Melbournian, will be looking to get a vital win in the race for 2nd. Marconi are also outsiders for a top 2 spot, but will need to win all of their remaining matches.

It's top two that make it through to play-offs, right? I can squeeze in there. I'm worried about playing revival though.

@afro- Sorry I did try and challenge you at the time of the post, I just didn't notice the little message that came up.
"Your team is travelling and will return home at 10-06-2010 08.00. Until then, it is not possible to arrange new friendlies."
My bad

Two pops this week, I've now got Two brilliant and two outstanding defenders.
My 18 year old should pop next week to outstanding, looking for my 19 year old to pop in the next three or four weeks to brilliant too. Should I add them to the U20's database?

Quote: FC Avnell Come Up Trumps Elmer Fudd - SMH In a match that lived up to all expectations, FC Avnell came out triumphant on a dark and cloudy day at Victoria Lions' VB Stadium last Sunday with a 4-3 victory which was played out in front of 27,480 people.
In a match which was close for the entire duration, the men from Victoria held the greater percent of possession but were unlucky in defeat, with FC Avnell scoring the winner in a fast paced and dramatic last few minutes.
FC Avnell opened the scoring through 30 year old striker Yannik Heblich in the 37th minute with an attack from the left, but the men from Wagga weren't celebrating too long when the very next minute, a lapse in concentration from their defence gave Lions winger Finnley Hollindale an equaliser.
Just 3 minutes later FC Avnell re-took the lead through a barnstorming run through the midfield finished cooly by defender Damien Morot, which was followed by a third minutes later through striker Antonio Faro.
It stayed the same till the 75th minute when Lions scored their second and brought themselves back into the match with a shot slipped into the goal by Mauricio Raglianti. It seemed as though the score would end that way until the 87th minute when Lions Finnley Hollindale scored his second with an equaliser and Lions believed they had earned themselves a point. But it wasnt to be, when barely a minute later FC Avnell stole a dramatic winner through Va'iga Nash, who in celebration sprinted the entire distance of the field to celebrate with the travelling fans, and secured themselves a vital 3 pts away from home, taking a share of the lead of the table home for tomorrows huge clash at home.
Tomorrow is the return leg if you will, when the Lions visit Rawlings Park in hope of stealing 3 pts and re-taking the lead of Div.148, and FC Avnell will be looking to use any home ground advantage and seizing the division by the horns and leading into the second half of the season.
A full stadium is expected to welcome FC Avnell and the Lions out to the pitch, with both lots of fans knowing exactly what is at stake.
To engage the community in this match, FC Avnell will be running a kid's clinic pre-match at youth arena RPC Stadium, and the clinic will also run post-match with club legend Stefan Zdanski, club young superstar Homer Dingwall, and the entire youth team will be at the clinic to help kids with their skills, and signing autographs for the fans.
FC Avnell will be missing striker Yannik Heblich for this match with Stefan Zdanski stepping into the role, but returns of 2 key players Roberto Giani and Piotras Girdžiunas will be crucial for their hopes tomorrow.
There will be no second chances after this, whoever loses faces an uphill battle for the title, and both teams will step onto Rawlings Park with ambition, and both will leave with nothing left in their tanks, expect a tough, gritty affair, with the odd touch of flair from key players, leading to what will hopefully be a memorable league match.
SMH Prediction: FC Avnell 2-1

Won 3-0, but two 3 week injuries, one to my Striker/Set piece take, and the other to my OT Defender. I need them back within 2, time to stock up on the doctors.

Lost 3-2 to top of the table. I'm not to upset by that. Only had 35% possession.
Important game next week and the week after. If I can grab a win next week...the week after could be key.
