Lost 5-0...:cry:

Lost 2-0. Those two consecutive draws hurt my confidence. The gulf between me and the top 4 is noticable points wise...as in it's about six points. Frustrating to see. But next season will be even stronger so it should be good.

Well, I don't know how we managed to do it, but in both groups, First plays off against Second, with both matches of huge importance. Elsewhere, Both myself and Avy will be hoping for things to go our way, everyone elseing is just playing for pride.

Well this is very interesting.

Melbournian and Celtic Raiders both finished on 13.

Melbournian got walked over today by me. Is that a 3-0 or 5-0? Should be 5-0 cause that is what it is in HT.

If it is 3-0, then both teams finished on the same goal difference.

Does it go down to goals scored or head to head?

In the other group, Broadmeadow thumped Revival to take top spot, whilst FC Avnell only needed to win to jump Revival to second, but they failed to do so, drawing 1-1 with LVFC.

Probably. With me in div 6, my second team can ease me to promotion, while my first team can get a better test against better sides against you guys here.

I brought up the option of Double Legged semis before. The only problem I can see is if it's tied after two legs, because even if we set it to cup rules, it will only take that 2nd leg's score into account. IF you get my drift. I'd love to do it though.

There's still 4 weeks left in the season. Play it over two legs...and if it's still level, play a third decider with cup rules.

Wow, I didn't know playing firsts was against competition rules. However, yes, I did find it tough in some games, particularly against your team in a 1-1 draw, didn't I? I take it you didn't play firsts in that game.

To add to that, I didn't know winning had become unfashionable. IIRC, last season, Nico, I think it was, started to play firsts in this comp, and he got to the final. To add to that, no-one had a problem with that.

If Funky plays firsts, then that's all well and good. I'll most likely get rolled, but I'd welcome the challenge.

Mostly I was pissed off because I needed a win in that game, you killed my momentum at a key time in the season.

Since when are youth teams unable to schedule friendlies in their off-season?

So there it is. Celtic Raiders sneak into 2nd thanks to Goal Difference, while FC Avnell missed the chance to leap frog Newcastle. And so we have our two Semi Finals:

Freaks FC v Newcastle Revival
Celtic Raiders v Broadmeadow Olympic

So here's how it's going to work. We'll use Afro's idea, with two legs, and then a decider with cup rules if need be. This means Away Goals will be taken into account, so make sure when you're challenging, that each team gets a home leg. Doesn't matter which order, but make sure it's swapped over for the 2nd leg. All good?
