Suns beat the Bobcats 117-110. Monster efforts from Gortat and Michael Beasley. Gortat had 23 pts, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks. Beasley had 21 pts, 15 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 blocks

Very pleased with the team at the moment. Obviously we won't be challenging for the playoffs atm, but we have a solid squad. Especially if Beasley can show why he was the number 2 pick a few years ago. Gortat is a beast, it really helped him training everyday with Howard when he was in Orlando. Dragic is a solid option at point guard. Scola was a great pick-up for us. The only worry atm is Dudley. My favourite player, gives his all and is highly dependable, but has struggled so far this year.

Good win by the Clippers to back up the rout of the Spurs, beating the Blazers 103-90. Jamal Crawford coming up big off the bench with 25 points

The Thunder pick up the road win in Chicago 97-91. KD top scoring with 24 points, with 8 of those in the final 3 minutes.

Holy shit the Jazz are horrible offensively. Down by 15 at the half against the Nuggets after getting just 11 points in the 2nd quarter. Finished the half on a run of 8mins 25secs without a field goal.

This was extremely short sighted IMO. They needed time to gel. However good the players are, they aren't an obvious fit for each other, like a Heat time, with good driving players in Wade and James and bunch of 3 point shooters to kick it back out to. Getting Howard and Gasol working together and understanding where they need to be, involving Kobe and bringing in screens for Nash is clearly something that takes awhile. Unless they get Phil Jackson back I'd say its a bad move.

The 76ers win their third straight 93-83 against Toronto. Bargnani's 23 pts not enough to stop the Raptors slipping to 1-5.

Pacers win 89-85 to send the Wizards to 0-5. Paul George top scoring with 20 pts.

Bobcats get their 2nd win of the season 101-97 in OT against the Mavs. Kemba Walker with 26 pts, 6 rebounds and 7 assists.

Bulls get the win at home against the Timberwolves 87-80. Nate Robinson with 18 pts off the bench.

Houston win their 3rd game of the season 96-82 against the 0-7 Pistons. James Harden leading all scorers with 20 pts.

Celtics pick up the win in Milwaukee 96-92. Paul Pierce with 25 pts and 9 rebounds for the Celtics while Monta Ellis had 32 pts and 8 assists for the Bucks.

Utah recover from their bad loss against the Nuggets to win 94-81 against the Suns. Al Jefferson with 27 pts and 14 rebounds.

Good to see us winning without key players. Beat OKC without Ginobili and we beat Portland today without Parker. Good to see how well the system works and the ability of other players to step into roles.

The Knicks remain the only undefeated team improving to 5-0 with a 99-89 road win in Orlando. Melo top scoring with 25 pts.

The Bobcats win their 3rd game of the season and send the Wizards to 0-6 with a 92-76 win at home. Ramon Sessions with 21 pts off the bench.

Toronto pick up just their 2nd win of the season in a low scoring game 74-72 against the struggling Pacers who move to 3-5. George Hill leading all scorers in a losing effort with 18 pts

The Nets improve to 4-2 with a 114-101 win against the Cavaliers. Big nights for Vareajao and Irving for the Cavs though. Irving with 34 pts, Varejao with a game high 35 points and 18 rebounds.

Portland get the road win 103-86 against the Kings. Damian Lillard with 22 points and 9 assists.

Spurs move to 7-1 with the tight 84-82 win against the Lakers. Kobe's 28 points and Dwight's 13 pts and 15 rebounds not enough for the Lakers to get their first win since the announcement of D'Antoni as their new coach.

God I love Pop. We've got Miami Heat today. Its on TNT with national TV audience. Big stage, and he rests Duncan, Ginobili and Parker. We already have Jackson and Leonard out. Doesn't care for the hype around a game, just does what the team needs.

And now this, Stern you're a fucking tool. Teams should do what they want in order to win. Who cares if Miami don't get to see our big players.

David Stern furious with Gregg Popovich, Spurs for sending players home

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, Danny Green don't travel to Miami with Spurs
Coach Gregg Popovich says decision comes because veterans are tired
NBA Commissioner David Stern says Spurs will receive substantial sanctions
8:21PM EST November 29. 2012 - San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is paid to win championships, not regular-season games in November.

NBA Commissioner David Stern won't stand for it.

Popovich took that decree to a new level, allowing Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green to skip Thursday night's game at the defending NBA champion Miami Heat in favor of flying back to rest fo Saturday's home game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Heat game is the 12th road game of the month and sixth in eight days for San Antonio.

Stern released a statement before the nationally televised game.

"I apologize to all NBA fans," he said. "This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming.''

With small forward Kawhi Leonard out because of a left knee injury, the Spurs will lack their top five scorers for the 8 p.m. ET game on TNT.

From the San Antonio Express-News:

The four were spotted on a Southwest flight making a pre-lunch escape from central Florida. ... In retrospect, Popovich was probably hinting at the decision to come before Wednesday's game in Orlando, when he admitted the most road-heavy November in team history was taking its toll on his players. "We're getting tired," Popovich said. "We've had a six-day trip and a 10-day trip. Usually you don't have that in one month."
Popovich sat Duncan, Parker and Ginobili together three times last season, according to the Express-News, and has limited their minutes this year. No Spur plays more than Parker's 31.7 minutes a game.

After the first quarter we look as good as usual, up by 4. We could/should still lose but to act as though us sending a few players home was going to ruin the game is just BS. Guarantee if we were playing Wizards, Bobcats or any other team that isn't Sterns money makers there'd be NO repercussions. Pop does it every year when he builds the teams schedule, just so happens this year its against Miami.

Spurs fined $250,000 for resting 4 players. What. A. Farce. Seriously, fuck David Stern, the only job of the Spurs is to look after their players and attempt to win a 5th Championship. Cannot wait for Stern to retire. There is more to the NBA than the LA Lakers and Lebron James.

This move will just bring a precedent of fake injuries. Expect next time our main guys are run down to see mysterious ankle strains.

Massive fail. Teams have done this before, they will again, but now it will be blamed on 'injuries'. Stern has fucked this up royally. Wouldn't have been an issue if it was a lower-key game. Favouring the bigger markets as usual.

Worth it though, fuck me are the Clippers on a tear. Francise record 17 straight wins, undefeated in December, only the third team to go 16-0 in a month, longest win streak in the league since the Celtics went 19 games in 08-09, leading the West and the best record in the league going into the New Year
