+x+xAfter just watching Watfords goal against Man U I don’t think Ryan did too badly yesterday. I think it's happened a few times now where Ryan had a bad game but a bigger name outdoes him the same round. Ha i think in De Geas case he is lucky it wasn’t a bigger match (and Watford got the pen shortly after).

+x+xHonestly we have to call Dykes up at this point - he deserves at least a look in over Giannou It doesn’t take much these days to play for the national team right? Score a couple of goals in the backwaters of Scottish football and straight into consideration for the Socceroos. Yeh, it would be stupid to consider some SPL upstart when we have Giannou, who plays (and rarely if ever scores) in the mighty league of Cyprus.

Dykes worth a call up to the next national team squad. This doesn’t guarantee game time but gives Arnie and the staff a chance to see how he trains and fits in to the team tactics and culture. What’s to be lost from this? If he fits in, sub him on for ten or fifteen minutes. Looks like an old fashioned number 9, and they can still be useful.

I can't imagine him getting another chance. He was never great even at his best. Might as well give an opportunity to someone younger. Duke has never impressed me, though admittedly I haven't seen much of him. Dykes certainly seems like more of a goal threat though.

Young, heavily linked with a move to big Championship clubs, and scoring goals in a league where some of our Socceroos already play. More than qualified to play for us.

100% agree that Dykes should be considered over Giannou for the next camp. At least he’s younger at 24 so has the potential to improve.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

I’m in Middlesbrough at the moment if by chance I see someone in their football club department are there any Aussies I can recommend they go after?

+x+xRogic definitely needs to get away from Celtic. The thing about Celtic is because the league is so one sided and because it’s basically Goliath against many David’s and generally it’s a low quality league, Celtic can just dominate possession and run rings around every team, and it has the habit of making distinctly average players like look like champions, especially if they run and sweat lots. It’s not really suited to a guy like Rogic who would prefer the pace a bit slower where skill and creativity is more appreciated. He might not be in the starting team at the moment but he’s one of the few who has the ability to step up to the EPL. Do you watch Celtic's games when Rogic plays? Firstly, the pace of the game is so slow compared to the EPL, anyone in the SPL would need to pace adjustment. Let alone Rogic who dwells on the ball at times and doesn't appear to have the body for doing a hard 90min a week. The reality is that Celtic is about his level. Yes he has excellent skills, but that is only one element of what's needed. He isn't a complete player able to step up. There may be another league more suited to him, but the English game is too fast. Celtic is Rogic level no doubt. If you think otherwise you haven't watched him play very closely at Celtic for the last few years.

Didn’t he clarify those reports that he’d accept a Scotland callup but he would rather play for Australia, essentially comes down to who shows more serious interest. Currently he’s worthy of a squad spot to see what he brings and fits in with the group, striker options are improving but none are such class to disregard other options.

I took a look at the wiki article and it doesn't actually mention him saying he wants to play for Scotland haha.. then for sure at 24 we should take a look at him. speaking of Scotland, I remember someone saying Arzani might be a chance by Christmas, anyone got any news?

But strongly doubt he will play boxing day cos he hasn’t even been on bench recently 🙁 Arnold wants him for Olyroos in January but celtic unlikely to release him during non Fifa window 🙁

At 24, the same age Dykes is, Aaron Mooy was just starting his first season for Melbourne City. Would be madness not to lock him in at the first opportunity. Who knows how high his start can rise over the next two WC cycles.
