+xYokohama loses 3-2. They seem to have thrown this one away. They were up 2-1 in the 89th minute. Damn that's a shame. Rumours circulating that Greece might want him. It's probably more internet chat than anything.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

+xGreat post mate, thanks for the info. McGrath would be a decent replacement for Gamerio, he might even be able to get on the field! McGrath - last time he came back to the a league he trialled with roar and newcastle i think and they were not interested at all, i recall he ended up in the QNPL for a while before returning to Europe.. it was a strange one..

PSV have drawn Basel in CL qualifying. It'll be tough. Loser goes to EL qualifying.

The 2 goals they conceded in the last few minutes are just ridiculous and unfortunately have Ange's imprint all over them. You're 2-1 up with only a few minutes to go AND playing with a man down, yet get caught out on the counter with literally all your defenders upfield and no one stationed in the back half. Not once, but twice. Absurd defending that exposes Ange's coaching frailties as much as much as it does the dodgy defenders.

I’m going to Middlesbrough vs Huddersfield on Boxing Day so I’m hoping on the off chance there are some Aussies playing so I can contribute to this thread

https://footballbh.net/2019/06/18/tactical-analysis-shimizu-s-pulse-vs-yokohama-f-marinos-j-league-analysis/Read this for a tactical analysis of Yokohama F Marinos loss. I'm 99% sure, amazingly it was written by Aussie abroad footballer Luc Jeggo.

Thanks, that was interesting. Sadly, Jeggo seems to confirm that it was Ange's stubborn gung ho approach and refusal to go a bit more defensive when they went down to 10 men that lost them the game.

not aussie... but Real Madrid signed one of Ange's old players Kubo was part of the barcelona academy... guy looks a real prospect.. may hurt us in the future... you think one day we will ever have any aussie with his potential?

I don't see why Arzani can't reach the highest level... He confirmed on the podcast he did that when he was 15/16 he received offers from Ajax, Schalke and Man City. These clubs clearly think he's a top talent. A big season this year with Celtic and there'll be big things coming.

In terms of having an Aussie player play for a Real Madrid or Barcelona is a lot different to say joining an Ajax unless your playing in the first team, I guess we wonder if that day comes when an young Aussie prospect joining one of the biggest clubs in the world. Who is our Kubo or Kang-in? Arzani has potential but the context isn’t the same with Kubo or Kang-In with the type of clubs they are in. For example Kang-In transfer clause at Valencia is 80 million euros and Kubo could have joined his former club in Barcelona, PSG or Manchester City. It will be interesting observing where all of these players go in the future.

Perhaps in the future we can produce our own Joao Felix, with more and more academies opening up its only a matter of time imo
