Imagine he's staying put then. Seems he's number 29 now. Actually I'm a tiny bit worried that I only saw photos of him possibly separate with these other three blokes, but there could be any reason for that, if they even were training separately. The Tranmere friendly is on in a little more than 2 hours but I can't find any squad lists on their site or twitter, probably keeping on the DL for preseason. On further inspection, it seems the other blokes in his group of four are fellow fullbacks Alberto Moreno, Joe Flanagan and Connor Randall, so I guess they're grouped by position.
I think those four plus Nathaniel Clyne (who'd still be on break after the Euros) make up all of the fullbacks for left and right sides for the first team, which is great for Smith's chances of real game time barring further signings, although I'd defer to any Liverpool fans to correct me.
I'm going to stop reading into this now before I start tracing illuminati symbols.

Valencia used Maty to reveal their new 2016/17 kits. The reveal included a very awkward cat-walk video  http://www.vcfplay.com/vcf-english/201617-valencia-presentation-8919.html

Wright only playing the first 30 minutes of a friendly, hope it's not a bad injury.

Irvine scoring in a friendly for Ross County. Guess they're planning to hold onto him.

decent goal! what ever happened with his impending transfer interest? surely he would be considered a decent pick up. http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2016/06/29/irvine-has-english-clubs-interested

Edited by paladisious: 9/7/2016 01:52:24 AM Not a Liverpool fan but I'd say right at this point in time there's a chance Smith could be 3rd choice at LB behind Moreno and Joe Gomez as well.

It would be better that Smith goes off loan then, no point sitting on the bench or being part of a couple carling or FA cup games.

That was a nice run and finish from Irvine, particularly for a holding midfielder. Good to see some friendly action with pre-season across Europe kicking off in earnest.

seasons coming up. friendlies abound. pick a team and post the schedule? Huddersfield with Aaron Mooy and Jason Davidson. (english dates...) 16/07 Oldham Athletic (A) 20/07 Liverpool (H) - maybe the battle of aussie left backs. 26/07 Werder Bremen 29/07 Ingolstadt 07/08 League opener v Brentford (H) (you can already see a positive influence from the coach in those fixtures - v klopp (his best buddy) and then off to the B1) Edited by inala brah: 9/7/2016 08:47:13 PM

Full matches and wins for Burns and Mrcela. Sainsbury starts
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Edited by inala brah: 9/7/2016 08:47:13 PM Huddersfield are going to a training camp in Australia. David and Mooy will also see Leckie. Good to see Mooy will play against some top league opponents. Yes a practice game but I really hope Mooy has a blinder and Bremen might go for him in future.

Look at the clubs Rogic gets in pre season, some criticise Scottish football here, sometimes fairly but much of it misguided and uninformed. When you play for a club like Celtic, these are the sorts of teams you can attract or become involved in, which means more experience and more eyes on you.
