he needs to get out of there.  Maybe they can mutually terminate and he can at least take some compensation, he arrived on a free didn't he so the club isn't losing out.
,  look for an new club as a free agent.

when the money dry's up, CSL will become a graveyard

Maty Ryan has been posting from training and what not so this far out from the end of the window, I cant see him moving now.

well good thing they made the rule in CSL

But our players need to get out of limbo and start making a case for themselves. Playing like shit will get them no where fast

Sains has to go now surely? He wont play in the ACL correct? It must be hard to walk away from 60k a week though.

It would be hard for sure

Could it be the case that he will play in the Super League and they'll save Jeong-ho Hong for the ACL games so they have a fresh defender for both competitions? I know Jeong-ho came in halfway through the season but I don't recall him being benched much? (in fact a quick look at transfermarkt suggests that he managed to incorporate them both into the starting line up some games.

This is some pretty grim reading. Our confidence levels were at an all time high at the start of the season.

It happens literally every year.

lucky its still january.  maybe he can leave now and play in a real league.

Would be good considering the new rules regular game time in the ACL was his only hope. Has collected millions should go to the Eredvise for a few seasons.

Massive Dutch Cup quarter final for Sparta. Dougall not in squad. The lineup posted is in Jersey number order. Goodwin, being listed as number 22, gives me no indication if he's starting.

Goodwin and Dougall were both on a massive bench.
Neither came on went to extra time, ended 1-1 in extra time. With Sparta winning 5 - 6 in penalties!
Game on Saturday so both should play then

Really concerned with the club status of Spira and Sains. Our first choice cbs one is still trapped in Chinese 2nd division and the other might struggle for game time due to the new CSL foreigner rule. What would Ange do if it doesn't change?

Agree Spira is a huge concern. If he decides to stay and cash in with his 2nd Div club then surely Ange won't pick him for any Socceroos matches.

If he stays there, drop him from the next round of qualifiers. Might send a message to get him out of there, before confederations cup starts

lol but he's playing in China week in week out. His team got relegated which shows they have technical ability far superior to Europe

spira is cooked. time to move on.  wright, wilko, jurman and devere can all do a decent job and they all have much less punchable faces.

Tbh I know Ange has commented in the media about China League 1 or wot ever it's called this week but the fact is that second tier almost spent as much as CSL a few short months ago in transfers and wages. Yer the local talent might be a bit thinner (but probably not much as they have 100 trillion players to pick from) but the top end talent are the guys that Spira will be marking week in week out.

POSTECOGLOU WARNS SPIRANOVIC TIER TWO IS NO GOOD

Australia coach Ange Postecoglou concedes Matthew Spiranovic could find his Socceroos spot at risk should the first-choice centre-back start playing in China's second tier.

Source: AAP
2 NOV 2016 - 7:45 PM

Spiranovic's club Hangzhou Greentown were officially relegated from the Chinese Super League following Sunday's final-round draw with Yanbian Fude.

Despite still having a year to run on his lucrative contract, the Geelong-born 28-year-old may consider moving to yet another club in search of better football as Australia progress through the final phase of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying.

Postecoglou, who already harbours some concerns about the standard of China's first division, wasn't convinced the second would provide Spiranovic with the quality required for the national team.

"It wouldn't be great, to be honest, we want our players playing at the highest possible level," Postecoglou said.

"With someone like Matty, who has had a pretty strong season and has come back into the Socceroos squad after missing a few games and has done well the last couple of games, I'd like to see him at the highest possible level.

"Those kinds of decisions are down to the players and what they feel is best for their careers.

"If he does stay and plays there we'll measure it as we do everything else.

"His performances will be measured against the opposition he's playing against."

It's unclear whether Hangzhou, who had been in the Chinese top flight since 2007, would even want to meet Spiranovic's salary in the Chinese League One.

A vital part of the Socceroos' defensive spine, Spiranovic has amassed 33 caps since 2008, a good chunk of them in the last three years since Postecoglou took over.

He is already well-travelled, having played stints in Germany for FC Nurnberg, Japan for Urawa Red Diamonds, Qatar for Al-Arabi and a successful two years in Australia with Western Sydney during which he won an A-League premiership and Asian Champions League.

Yer that's wot I had read about Ange's thoughts.

Here's a post of mine from 10 mths ago on 442 from Wild East Football Twitter.

Not CSL but this from Wild East Football.

China League One (2nd tier) teams spent 47 million Euro on players this window - 4th highest of any world league, says Chinese media.
10:01 PM - 10 Mar 2016

People hear league One and have a preconceived idea that it's park football. Bowds I think people need to keep in mind that many of the forwards that Spira would line up on even here are EPL talent level.

Cleur played in the Coppa Primavera semi final last night. They won  4-3 on the night and 6-5 on aggregate over Fiorentina. With the scoreline it is hard to say a defender did well but still he is having a great season as Entella are coming second in their primavera group with the second best defence. They play Roma in the final. They are one spot above Roma in the league but just lost to them.

Picking players from the Chinese second division is an insult to the shirt. Ffs Ange should be making rules and sticking to them.

Spiranovic would be playing against better teams here.

i dont think many of them would walk straight into an epl team.  and i dont think they play in the csl anywhere near the same intensity as the epl.  i dont think its as good for our player development.  i have seen zero improvement from any aussies in china except maybe mcgowan who i think should be nowhere near the NT.

The Chinese government should step in and try to bring the wages of Chinese players under control. It's ridiculous that the Australian A League is run as a socialist/closed market and the country that was a socialist/closed market for over 50 years has a rampantly capitalist football league.

Look at the highly regulated player market in US sports compared to the laissez faire system in Europe. Pretty ironic.

Degenek has moved to Yokohama from 1860. A decent move and best for all parties. Apparently something was going on in the background. He was decent in midfield and most fans agree that he was a terrible back 4 player.

His assist against England was pure luck and he's definitely on the outer for Australia I'd think. Franjic, Geria and Risdon really are the best RB options we have and we just have to go for it.
