+xDegenek has moved to Yokohama from 1860. A decent move and best for all parties. Apparently something was going on in the background. He was decent in midfield and most fans agree that he was a terrible back 4 player. His assist against England was pure luck and he's definitely on the outer for Australia I'd think. Franjic, Geria and Risdon really are the best RB options we have and we just have to go for it. Bit of a let down though. There was that period where it sounded like he was doing very well there and destined for bigger things

From the Australian perspective it was a real wild cars appearance to the set up.

Which LB would be the most able RB? Behich or Smith?

Dougall starting. Goodwin bench. Large benches in Holland with 11 players.

The mistake prone Risdon should be nowhere near a national team

Which LB would be the most able RB? Behich or Smith? well behich is actually playing so that's pretty straight forward to me. and the turkish league is a very decent quality. probably better than holland or belgium. lightyears beyond the shit in china. i would have zullo and behich in the squad and leave smith at home. the boss need to pressure players into making better club choices by not rewarding them for shit. if holger had the balls to do that lucas neill would have settled himself at a club and we would have gotten more games out of him. also you cant deny the harm that NT squads have had on some lads on the fringes at clubs. they come back from camp fatigued and more often than not it costs them a starting spot. fine if its a comp - the asian cup - or they are guaranteed a good run - but if not they need to be left to get it together at club. ange needs to look more to the a-league to build the NT imo.

Totally agree. Regular game time in Europe must be treated as a priority. Players like behich should be the first name on the sheet. Also, if Holger had some balls and stopped picking Neill he may have kept his job and gone to world cup.

Behich or Smith? i think behich is a much more reliable stable option for the job. either that or put milligan in the spot. if you are going to play someone out of position they need to have a head on their shoulders. also i would be putting goodwin in the mix ahead of smith. i dont think smith should even be in the squad until he is playing regularly.

Of the top 10 most expensive league 1 players I had a look and only one you could say was ever a regular in a top 5 league the A league actuallty has better Marquees atm maybe on par certainly not any worse. The very best look to either have a bit of Brazilian 1st division experience or have played with a top team in a much lower quality league Austria, Croatia , Serbia. So every other week you would play against one player who has played for a quality team or in a decent competition. Looks as though they are simply being paid much more than they are worth not that they are all that good. Plenty of countries with high populations who couldn't make a competitive A league squad or even starting XI India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Philippines e.t.c

Liverpool down 2/nil vs wolverhampton. Have all the play. Wasting time faffing it around the box rather than just getting it in there.
I fear our national team is doing similar lately. I wonder if Ange would have a different strategy with a pure striker in the team?
Anyway, with Luongo, Rogic and Mooy, that's a pretty good team core

Wright starting away to Burnley. Unfortunately no O'Neill despite Burnley making some rotations.
Mooy on bench to Rochdale in FA Cup. Irvine captain today and he's playing Luongo who's starting too.
Williams, Inman on the bench. Meredith starting. No Herd or Elder. Leckie starting.

Liverpool>80% of the ball. Was it vs Thailand we were like that and didn't win? In 1997 it was same vs Iran. Oh the value of a striker. No point in continually trying to break it down if you never execute an entry into the box

Leckie uses his body well for the ball to hit his hip and go to a teammate who scores from a tight angle. He might be given the assist.

Leckie subbed off with a knock to the knee. He was treated and played 5 more but then limped off.

Good's starting for Newcastle away to Oxford.
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
