+x+x+xWe missed out on Anthony Frangie, opted to go to Marconi for more money. Mitchell Mallia went to Marconi as well. better for you guys. Marconi spending ridiculous money It's getting to the point where you have ask why? What's the incentive? To win stuff. Isn't that why football clubs exist?

There's no prize money to win the a-league, or for winning a gold medal at the Olympics for that matter.

+x+xthe way they played sure is possible and being a Sydney club be great to achieve. Got to say Sanchez's goal going around Necevski then to be virtually on the goal line to score was such a fine line angle great goal, we were right at that end watching. That number 14 for Sydney Olympic was quality. Very smart player. As a neutral it seemed to me that the amount of football that APIA has played the last few weeks has caught up with them, body language wasn't positive at all as opposed to Olympic who were enthusiastic & hungry for the entire 90 minutes even when they were at 3-0. Lucky me & the my unruly mob got their early, heard there were massive lines to get in due to a tiny amount of gates open. FootballNSW fucking up once again. Great venue too, took the family to pizza on Norton Street for lunch, parked then slowly walked to the ground. That's Sanchez the striker, and apparently he has re-signed with Olympic for ridiculous money. As for marconi, the only one i know that hasnt resigned from those names mentioned was Jesic.

Look I've done football administration in the past so I'm aware of the balance between money & winning. I'm not saying that the kind of money that get thrown around at the top echelon of football isn't a waste of time however when you have players in a semi professional league who are potentially on the same kind of money as certain A League professionals then it's a bit silly. I think in many ways it will get worse due to the possibility of FFA Cup exposure & potential money that can be made from that, I mean it's the only way that clubs are going to make any significant amount of money outside of the very generous individual sponsors that exist. Those guys want to pump money in, go nuts however my concern is that I want to see a light at the end of the tunnel for this sort of money besides the odd FFA Cup crowd & the odd NSWPL finals appearance. Where I'm going with this is that unless a 2nd Division or P/R comes in I'd start to question what it's all for.

Your viewing it as a business. Remember, these are generally community clubs, particularly in the ethnic clubs, representing the ethnic community and a club that does well is often seen as a sense of pride amongst that community, to those interested in football.
These clubs don't expect to make profit, they expect to break even, and break even only after considering the generous contributions.
In terms of top money, I'd be surprised if clubs were throwing around 65k for players, very surprised. That's the minimum a league deal. I think the top players will be closer to 30k in the npl.

Not sure who is going but you would have to think most of the side. 200 points is the limit and there is no way they can keep them all.

Depends who they're letting go, and how many years, if any, these new guys spent at Marconi in youth. All 2018 signings become 10 points or less in 2019.

From what I understand, anything from 13 to 20s is considered youth. -1 for every year

+xMore rumours Nathan Millgate APIA to Marconi Speranza Brothers, Zac Cairncross, Connor Evans Blacktown to Marconi It seems there was some fire among that smoke, if Marconi's signings are correct. Roberto Speranza, Evans and Cairncross all did stints on the bench while inferior players filled their positions. A lot of quality walking out the door if this rumour is true.

Also, Oliveira do Hospital are in the third tier. I've contacted the Sporting Director at the club and I'll keep everyone posted when he gets back to me. It would be about 1am there at the moment.

Choi hasn't really recovered from all his injuries. Quality player when fit.
Peter Simonoski signed for United 58.

Would I right in assuming that the club are not fulltime? Good to see that he has apparently scored twice already in a friendly. I think he can do very well over there if he stays free from injury. A few A League clubs will be regretting that they didn't give him a chance.

But even then, hopefully he can do really well, and earn himself a move up the divisions.

APIA's team will probably experience a few more losses & Raciti isn't involved in the club anymore from what I'm hearing.

A serious question What will the announcement that Football NSW are capping fees for juniors and making them transparent do to some NPL clubs? https://footballnsw.com.au/2018/09/20/football-nsw-capped-registration-fees/

Fees have been capped for years. I don't think any NPL club would be stupid enough to charge over what FNSW sets?
