+x+x+xFNSW what do we expect. Mind you the season has been trying with all the rain etc.... Congrats SU58 in the Cup Final and last nights ACup win. Considering the season its been good recovery. Is the WU game played at home ? Hope I make it out for Sundays game. yeah as far as we know it will be at edensor. Winning the waratah cup this sunday & now hopefully a decent crowd against Western United will make up for the mediocre season we've had. sorry mate re Sundays result...... I have to give kudos to Spirit, have had a top season gaining promo and the WCup win is icing on the cake for them. Now get on and play a top one against WU coming Sunday.. story of our season, didnt show up for first 45min and got punished. didnt deserve to win. now for Western United to smack us for 6 this sunday. good news i'm hearing is the cleanout will begin. rumors have it, Roberts going to Sutherland, Poscoliero to Illawarra leagues, Clut gone...

yer it might get ugly Sunday but hope not.......... No doubt the clean up is in order, I actually wasn't that excited pre season of recruits. Re new recruits be it for any of the top flight. I frequent more games below at PL1/2 levels and see many promising prospects. Do any of the top flight TD's or whoever ever spend sometime watching these prospects I wonder barring their own up and comers ? For eg like Choi going back to BC, I mean he's a sound player and known but i'd be searching below for those younger hungry hidden gems. Its results based I know but its all so short term. I even watch some Prem1 games that is full of ex NPL players who got the jack of all the BS politics - so many are worthy playing back up in the higher leagues.

Regarding promising prospects - one of the issues is that if players start to play up, they'll get picked up by the A-league academies. I know Sydney signed a 17 year old from Sydney United, that had some minutes this season, during the window. Opening the pyramid will change this. The kid won't have to leave Sydney United to chase a full time contract if Sydney United are playing in the second tier he has a pathway to pro football.

United is always full of good up and coming talent, a lot of them get picked up by the AL youth teams early, they like to dangle the carrot for AL first team action, a handful of left just in the past season However we are also entertaining the overseas options where players surpass the AL, we have sold 4 of our GK's this way. Goran Palecek (18 yr old) signed for HNK Orijent in HNL.2 just the other day.

CONGRATS SU58.......thats made up for the season. That was good to watch - loved seeing SU getting some possesion and being effective, some build up play was really good one touch flow. Couple of chances would have been nice to have taken but thats the game. Taking a short corner late in normal time was wrong decision I was livid. Backline did really well under the pump, lucky couple of times might I add but they couldn't convert when presented. Some soft decisions by the ref but typical. Look forward which Pro Club SU is up against next.

Had a below par season, lose the waratah cup final to an NPL2 club but then go and beat the A-League Champions lol. Yes we got lucky, Western had a lot of chances, but you need some luck. I felt we played better in the second half, and had chances to win it. Regarding the referee, we thought late in the first half Western United's defender should of got a straight red for lashing out at Perkatis, however he decided to give both players a yellow... some of the decisions really are in the favour of the A-league clubs. whoever we get next is just a bonus now!

yep thats why we love football, the highs and lows ! yer luck always plays a big part when your up against a better opponent at the same time the teams lifted for the challenge thats what great viewing. Agreed 2nd half some passages were on your side and a couple chances should have hit the target instead of wayward ones. Agreed re the Perkatis incident. Whatever happens next with you, just want you guys to put in the same and go down fighting with all there is to throw at whoever. Is the last 8 played at neutral grounds I wonder, and I hope its in our town.

I dont believe neutral venues come into play at all, until it's the final

Well done and good luck. I enjoy watching the NPL clubs beat the A-league franchises, especially when it's a club from NSW.

So who's your tip getting through vs Manly fellas ? SO BC pretty even through the season in the end - BC looks to be the pick but some big game players in SO and being @ Belmore its SO for me. Should be a good crowd.

Should be a good crowd. Hard to call, both teams have been fairly consistent throughout the season. To be honest I'm surprised that APIA & Marconi choked so hard, they had such great promise for this season. Though they were going to go all the way.

Well went to pens, watched bits on npltv and pens. Hard fought game. SO having 2 shootouts in a row - I suppose BC feel justice missing out on the Premiers plate. Got to say for such a game Belmores surface is sub standard. Manly BC should be a good GF.

Manly v Blacktown final, hopefully it draws more than 1000 people.

Where was that all year lol. there was a least a few hundred that travelled from sydney, the rest was local Brisbane croats and Gold Coast Knights supporters.

TBH both Clubs don't gain my interest - I saw a crowd of 4k quoted at the ground. Yep back to the ol days first past the post - I tend to prefer it. the most consistant gets all the accolades instead of being shadowed by a play off series if they get knocked out.

FNSW quoted 3.4k, but it looked far less than that, might of been the total attendance throughout the day, then again they arent the best supported clubs in the league.

We were at the game, that looked about right. One side of the lower grandstand had people all the way to the end and three quarters at the other end. There were a few hundred down the end & there were people above the players benches which was another couple of hundred. Great venue for football.

Does anybody know what's up with the demolition works at Sydney United Sports Centre? Looks like half of the terraces on the Boka side were demolished.

Looks like half of the terraces on the Boka side were demolished. going through renovations at the moment. that section of the grandstand wasnt structural sound anymore, as it was built on foundation and not piers which is why they decided to demolish it and build something new
