Quote:Sydney United 58
Rumours flying around about wholesale changes, and it's likely that Phil Makrys and Manny Giannaros will be among the outs.
Ins: Harris Gaitatzis (Sydney Olympic) and Yianni Fragogiannis (Blacktown City).
Outs: Mitchell Stamatellis (Hakoah Sydney City East), Mark Cindric (Sydney Olympic) and Chris Triantis (Sydney Olympic). No confirmation we signed Gaitatzis. Stamatellis ended up signing for Sydney Olympic. Ibby Haydar - Parramatta Giannaros & Makrys both to Marconi I believe.

Giannaros & Makrys both to Marconi I believe.

Bonnyrigg have signed Michael Robinson from South Coast Wolves. Played for us a few years ago, was average but apparently coming on low wage and wants to win trophies.
Not many signings as not much players available, if injuries kick in its going to be a long 2016 season.
IMHO top 3 in league is realistic, but FFA Cup might be given a miss again this year #-o

It all depends on the draw, you might get a run that has no NPL1 teams in it, like the one that saw Balmain Tigers qualify. Flipside, you might get a match up like Apia v United in the first match...
What are they gonna do with Blacktown City? Surely they won't play in the FFA Cup Qualifiers as they have a spot already locked in , but will that mean they get automatic entry into the Waratah Cup if FNSW run it again this year?

We offered fair few of Demons players contracts at BWE but knocked us back saying getting better already at Lily Homes & personally the club has been tightening the purse... Dramas such as? if its to do with the player exodus, that's been well noted previously. its sad to see some of the players that left, but the others had to go. Does anybody know what the rules for Sydney FC and West Sydney are in term of players? Do they have to play all youth players, or is there a cap on how many senior players can play in one game, similar to that of the youth league?

All have to be born between 96-2000 to be eligible while they are also allowed 3 players with less than 10 HAL games experience from the previous season to play from their first team if they are born no earlier than 1993

Fair enough. I guess it stops us from playing our first XI and flogging teams week in week out. Should be entertaining.

Take the NPL 1 Victoria (Victoria's 2nd division) Melbourne victory got promoted while city had a fairly average year so you never know, there could be some great scalps against the 3 A-league teams.

From the single early in the pre season game I saw Of Sydney FC's youth I suspect they will be top 4 however I doubt they will smash the league, Marconi, Spirit and Bankstown City will no doubt be looking for promotion so should make for an interesting season. Will be crucial for all clubs looking for promotion to have strong 18's and 20's also.

Only league in the country to do that.

We have a few clubs which already treat their youth teams like a joke in order to financially support their first grade.
