Which version of FF though? 2 or 3? I've had no dramas at all since installing FF3.

The only dramas I've found with FF3 is with applications in windows like with youtube clips imbedded in webpages and with accessing my emails, but that's been a problem with all internet browsers I've found.

We build/maintain a lot of websites, and unfortunately we don't have the time/manpower to fix an issue such as this.
After talking with some of the senior web developer guys, they all agree it makes no sense. Since we launched 442 back in March-ish last year, we've launched and relaunched quite a few websites, and learnt quite a lot on the way.
The only feasible way that we can see to fix this issue is to basically rebuild the entire site/forums from scratch (which would, in turn, fix those weird rendering issues that occur every now and then).
It sucks, I know, and I truly want to fix the problem, but right now we just can't.
When we DO eventually rebuild this site (well every site gets rebuilt eventually..), I'll make sure this is one of the highest priorities (although it is extremely hard to test).
FYI though, I do get logged out every now and then, but nowhere near as much as you claim to be. Fortunately (if you can call it that), only a few of you are really experiencing and getting annoyed with this. All I can say is sorry, but for now, that's the way it's staying.

It does get annoying. -When you click 'remember me', itd be handy if you were muthaphukkin remembered!!! :) -Also its a bitch when you wanna check back on something you just wrote, say you left the site for 5 mins, then youve got to log back in just to reply once. -THEN theres the times when you write really long replies and you time out and you lose all your work. Those times are the funnest.

Ive learnt to do that but sometimes youve spent 10 mins on another website and theres only two lines so you forget.

Can we please get this fixed? I get logged out all the time, I have to log in just about every time I visit the site.
Please dont say you have to rebuild the whole site to fix it, its just a bug somewhere, you just have to find it. I suspect it is something to do with the cookie expiration time being set incorrectly or perhaps the session id's arent being stored in your database correctly.

Ok then.... explain why it happens to some people and not others.
edit: When I was logged in with this account at home, sometimes I get logged out, sometimes I don't. At work, I never get logged out.

I know how frustrating it is, sometimes it seems like things happen randomly but there is always an explanation.
Its just so damn annoying. I just came back to the site then and I was logged out again, only like 30 minutes after my last visit. I didnt even close my browser.

It happens to me all the time. Funny how its at work every time I come to the site. At home, its remembered my log in since the last time I logged in (usually a week or more). But its not hard to hit "sign in" and press a button. I have FF to save my user and password so I'm not typing it all the time.

Yeah, try setting it up so that your browser remembers the details and not FFT. All you have to do everytime you open FFT you just click login. That is a way that I found around the problem at home in Sydney.

never happens on opera. it might be I.E. or firefox.

I am using Ubuntu Linux with Firefox at home and the timeout happens all the time.
At work using Firefox on Windows, it's not so bad.
Maybe it's a Ubuntu thing? LOL!
