Just realized that there's not many other shows with minor characters as great as the ones from The Simpsons.

Aside from Quagmire, a few kids from South Park, and Mr. Garrison, there's no real standouts from similar shows outside of the main characters. Not including Cleveland because he has his own show.

Flanders when he has that blow up at the whole town, when his house is hammered by the hurricane hahaha the best

One of my favourite lines would have to be Abe Simpson defending Homer:

Sure there is. Scruffy and Nixon in Futurama. Krieger and Barry in Archer. Butters and Big Gay Al in South Park.

The only real difference is that having been on air for over 20 years now, you're more familiar with the Simpsons' secondary characters.

one of my favourite lines is "i don't need to be careful, i've got a gun" which is followed by one of my favourite scenes of all time when he has to wait for it with all the moving targets cruising past.

For pure impact Hank Scorpio. Lionel Hutz also very good. Chief Wiggum has plenty of hilarious scenes. I think really it's just the older episodes have joke after joke and it just cracks me up how good the deliver is.

Yeah, Rock Bottom & Four Finger Discount are the two groups I follow. Invariably whatever you see in one group you'll see in the other a couple of minutes later.
Rock Bottom has been unsuspended now.

Hank Scorpio has to be the best of the one episode characters during the classic simpsons era.

Or Rodney Dangerfield as Mr Burn's son. 

I'm not even going to try to pick out of the regular characters.

What was the reason? Flagged for something offensive but I couldn't point to which post would be that bad.

Dunno about favourite but really enjoyed the few episodes that Homer's brother and Mum were in.  Out of the hundreds of episodes they've done I think Homer's brother was in only one (the excellent one where Homer designed a car) and his mum in 2. 

Homer's brother was in 2 from memory: the one we're homer finds out he has a brother and the one where he comes to live with the simpson family after going bankrupt.

On a side not the episode "stark raving dad" is not available on Disney's streaming service due to Michael Jackson not being in it. God I hate cancel culture.
